HEY GUYS THIS TOPIC HAS PROBERLY ALL READY BEEN COVERED AND IVE USED THE SEARCH AND IM SORRY IF IT HAS AND CANT FIND IT BUT DOES A SERIES 2 ECU WORK ON A SERIES 1 R33?

I beleive it doesn't! The ignitor is built into a series 2 ECU, whereas it sits ontop of the coil-pack cover on a series 1 motor.

I've read lots of compatibility issues switching ECU's or using the wrong ECU for the engine.

Possible to work, but ROM data is diffrent between them. R33GTS-T has many standrad ECU data and ECU unit.

i have a series1 ecu in my series2. series2 ecu wont allow anything more than about 9psi. very annoying cos i reckon the series2 ecu has a more refined tune but this is the only way i can run more boost at the moment.

The ignitor is on the coil on the s2, not in the ecu.

The r33 power fc is the same model number for both series 1 and 2 which means pinouts and out/inputs are identical.

whilst you are correct re: pinout configuration the rom data is different so it will feel flat a tacky when driving (ie: it wont work)

There are about 20 standard ECU data in R33GTS-T. I usually use the latest data for ECU tune because it is sovled standard ECU bug.
