Last night driving towards Southland... some of you know to make a left turn just before Southland shopping center you need to get into this service lane on the left, cos I dont live there I missed it... just before me this AU Falcon turned into the service lane to make a left turn into this road that I needed to turn into... anyway I slowed down to make a left turn (kinda illegal I know, my bad but I slowed right down and was giving that Falcon a permission to turn first, he didnt go so I presumed he wanted me to go first) so I went, as soon as I went past him he beeped me and flashed the lights... :D

Im like "ok whatever"... 10 meters down the road I had to turn left into the car park there... the Ford's still flashing me and following behind... now this is where I said "f**k this guy, ill be a prick too"... so instead of turning off into the car park I just stopped and stood there blocking him off, he could of drove around offcourse but he kept on my ass... after 10 secs i drove into the car park and stopped my car...the ford drove in to the left side of me and as I put my window down and say "how you goin mate?" I see this really old dude in his 60s with this grimmace on his face like hes about to explode lol :P

He proceeded to quickly get out of his car and in that split second I quickly thought to myself "do i really need to have a confrontation with some old dude whos obviously looking for trouble" (id have no problem dropping a guy who is nearly 3 times my age) so I just gassed it and got out of that car park... the other thing that worried me was " can i afford a dint on my car from this hooligan LOL... seriously, i had nothing to prove to this guy... and didnt want my baby to get hurt in the process (for all i know he could of taken his cane stick out lol).

Whats up with these old coggers?? They need a chill pill... i was gonna have a polite word with him but he just lost it lol

Old guys... they invented the road and everything on it! You have no place being on it... just ask him!!!!

Some old guys just seem to have no excitement left in their lives or something and they're just an absolute pain to deal with. Usually it's just not worth the trouble!

had something similiar happen to me, i went past an old guy in an old HJ ute in my R33, as i went passed him i was accelerating and BOV'd beside his window. at the next set of lights he was sitting behind me and began throwing handfulls of small pebble stones from out of his window onto my car. i got his rego details, and working for an insurance company and hoping he would scratch my car, i left it at that. further down the road he got in front of me, and from about 80km/h he slammed his skids on. i slammed on mine too, as well as the line up of cars behind me.

he would have been 60+ too, people with anger problems shouldnt be allowed behind the wheel....

Shit like that is just plain dangerous!! I'm a firm beleiver that people 60+ should have to take their driving test again periodically because it's more than likely that the road rules have changed quite a lot since they got their license and they just haven't kept up to date. You may have noticed the plentiful amount of old men who just plain don't know how to indicate on a roundabout. Some of them seem to put on their indicator whenever they turn the wheel so you get about 3 different signals when all they are doing is going straight through!!

Geez i hate people like this. I saw a bogan in a kingswood last night totally harrassing a P Plater. Going up the inside on a normal one lane street, overtaking in a 60 zone where the p plater was doing 60. He pulled in front of the p plater and slammed his brakes on. Luckily the p plater had time to brake but what a f**kwitt. I felt like catching up and belting some sense into the bogan. He was mid 30s to i reckon so you;d think he'd have some common sense. Preety frustrating having to witness shit like that knowing you can't do anything about it.

I know and understand where your coming from, but the problem here is the fact that people are assholes. Testing someone isnt gonna show that up- no ones gonna get road rage in an exam

But it will show up that you don’t know the road rules.

Sure you can’t show up road rage in an exam but if you just don’t know the rules then that will be clear. You could have some sweet old 70 year lady who sits dead on the speed limit, and is very polite on the road, but she doesn’t know who to give way to at roundabouts. Accident caused she’s in the wrong.

Just remember that there are a lot of P plate hooligans and the old folks who were brought up with respect and morals dont like the youth of today and their hooliganism....

So you cant really blame some old fogies for getting the shits with youngens at times.

thats a bit judgemental. i've seen some really dumb shit carried out on roads by older drivers. i know a guy who's in his late 30's that constantly does burnouts etc etc and goes through a car every 3 months or so. not to mention i have like a million stories of old people and not knowing how to f**king drive half the time due to either 1. they are a lil TO cautious. or 2. the road rules have changed since they got there licence and so they have nfi anymore and therefore like someone else said once people get to 60+ should have to under go another test to update them on road rules. ESPECIALLY to do with roundabouts.

2 stories from the past month involving roundabouts.

one was a lady in her mid 30's i'd assume, she was in the turning lane, i was in the lane to go straight, now this is a single roundabout, when all was clear i took off, but so did she and went straight, lucky i noticed her doing so coz she would of cleaned up my rear quarter.

another was at the same roundabout, i was coming off one of the smaller st's into it, lady in the turning lane was like 70 or so in her lil laser... indicator on... so i went, so she goes straight then proceeds to give me the finger as if i cut her off? so i was like : ... wtf

thats jst 2 examples out of like a million i have witnessed in not even a year of being on the roads as a p plater.

Interesting,

You denigrate him because of his age, and call him all sorts of names, but when it comes to a stand up fight you run away like a wimp coward.

Maybe he was more of a man than you will ever be. Probably a better driver too.

Yeah uleh, shoulda broke his nose hey?? :P

I aspire to be a grumpy old man some day :D:P:O

I read somewhere that rage is a common thing with older men and in a lot of cases it can be attributed to a chemical imbalance....testosterone or estrogen, too much or too little of one or the other, I can't remember which.

Anyway ironically there is a "chill pill" available that would turn him into the pleasant lawn bowling grandpa the he should be.

I've become a really good ignorer.

When people make mistakes, give me the finger for doing something right.. Calling me a "stupid ricer top bloke" at a set of lights, I just sit there and listen to my music.. Don't make eye contact and just ignore them.

..They love it.

Sure, it gets annoying, and when someone doesnt indicate at a round-a-bout or whatever, it gets on your nerves.. But I've learnt to get over it.

I know people personally who carry weapons in their cars because they are afraid, and I've watched a few videos of Americans who shoot at each other for cutting the other one off etc.

golden oldy seems to apply in a few of these cases, NEVER TRUST AN IDICATOR !!.... well derr aye?

and yes, I carry a club lock (which I actually use as a club lock to) and a well hiden edge, I believe in a proportional response.

Theres 2 reasons why.

I LOVE my girl and I LOVE my car, touch either, like anyone with the balls to stand and the brains to run if its strategically a good idea.

When it comes to it, you get 2 choices, either you can take it an be at someones mercy or you can stand up and try an come ontop, no matter what, even if your pretty sure your gona loose, give it a go, whats the worst ? your gona be at thier mercy anyway? shit you should of learned that in school, let alone else aye?

im not the biggest boy and havent once copped shit once for driving a line bar my mates for its stockishness and my family for buying a 2 door.

Where bouts do you cop shit for driving a line? perhaps after you hang the arse out in traffic ? or maybe in a packed roundabout like some f**ktard p plater in an old white commo this arvo. This genious was over 2 lanes, forgot its a heavy arse pig an on the backswing from overcorrecting after shitting himself he wipes out the give way sign on hte island to my right in MY entrance.

the smart c**t pulled over and was wondering what went wrong.

ok i admit slapping him upside the back of the head (open handed) was not the best idea, but he saw me comeing and was expecting a full blown hit, cringeing cuint.

yes im pissed off, I WISH I'd taken the club lock with me an made hgim feel some pain $$$ wise with a fat dent

DUMB f**kER scared the shit outa me, cant f**king move, dont know to jump forward into the roundabout (the only way i could have moved) cuase he doesnt even know which way his going.

I had my misses, my sister and my f**king uncles kid in the car, if he had goten traction and went stragith wed be fuicked... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

f**k i want to break something

    • Seat of the pants assessment of the new intake: The car is way less "doughy" when hitting the loud pedal, especially off idle when stopped or in traffic, I did use a cheapo lazer thermal thingo to measure the temp around where the pod filter got its air, it was between 55 - 60°C, in saying this the car was shut off and not moving, so the OEM intake pipe was not supplying any fresh air to where the pod was when the car was at least moving A weird bonus was induction noise on the throttle in the cabin increased a bit,  I was worried that I was actually going to lose some of that induction noise I love so much, outside though, when I got the daughter to do a WOT drive by pass for me, the induction noise has increased alot when on the throttle, not quite ITB doort, but well up there I'm extremely happy with the results and have been exploring the country roads in the region  As for house mods: 1.New front fence is up and is awesome, it really upgraded how the joint looks from the street, and the added security is nice 2. Electricians have replace some interior lights, and with more lighting in the garage, a few new motion detecting lights out the front above the garage, front room, and at the front door, which I have already found heaps helpful coming and going, also now has fancy pants CCTV all round the house The only hold point for power though is the solar and batteries due to supply issues, although this will happen over the next few weeks 3. I have done a heap of landscaping out the front and I'm almost ready to do a new small retaining wall with some nice blocks to replace the brick and cemented in rocks around the raised garden beds cemented in river stone "was the fashion at the time" the house was built. I currently have a pallet of retaining wall blocks and 2 bulka bags of 20mm blue metal to replace the wood chip that is in the raised garden beds around the house 4. I now have 3 big raised garden beds for out the back to grow some vegetables, about 70cm high, 200cm long and 100cm wide 5. My 2 compost bins are already pretty full with brown, green and kitchen waste from the landscaping I'vedone so far, but they will probably take a few months to break down, so anything else that gets chopped, trimmed, and kitchen waste will just start filling the base of the raised garden beds to about 30cm before I start throwing 40cm of good compost, and stuff, for the vegetables to grow in, I'll need a few ton of compost and soil, but the local supplier can sent me bulka bags of the stuff Basically the logs, wood chips and a few strategically placed rocks for drainage, will give the beds some good organic materials down low to break down over time, and they will hold moisture during the warmer months to save the water in my big arse water tank if we don't get alot of rain So, all in all, the car and house mods are going well, and I'm really enjoying being retired, I sleep in too 0700 and slowly plod around inside until I feel like actually doing anything, and only work in the yard for as long as want, which has actually been alot over the last few weeks,  although when you look at it, it seems that not a huge amount of work has been done,  until I look at the before I started the work pics Happy days and good times indeed
    • hahaha yeah. Plan is to get side skirts and probably just rear pods. But going to do them one-by-one. I've got a set that I really like from RHDJapen, but that one isn't shipped to AU. So need to find someone who can get it for me
