Q: If this is an R34 GTR, why do you have it listed as a 2.5L? Does that mean its not really a GTR?

21-Apr-06

A: its a RB26 engine, 2.5l twin turbo. it is a real GTR. its a v-spec2. the NUR Spec comes in 2.8l twin turbo.

Surely no GTR owner is that much of a moron? :D

Sounds like the typical scam of someone listing cars for sale that they dont own, thus knowing nothing about the car itself.

Unfortuantely its very common, people rip photos from carsales.com or the like and use them to place false ads on ebay

Usually they take over someone else's account, then tells you to email the scammer at a different email address.

Plus it's usually $8000 that they list them for. I'll bet Blitz is correct though, it is probably dodgy. Ask if you can view the car pre-auction close... that will tell for sure!

its just a vspec too.....notice the sticker on the back says vspec not vspecII

The ad says 99 model , so it cant be V-specII , she also has yellow indicators but it looks like she may have a c/f v-spec II bonnet ( a little hard to see on the pic )

I agree with you regarding the c/f bonnet / NACA scoop.

It was interesting to read that the car has had the extractors changed yet the stock turbos remain. :whistling:

Then he claims "this car has never been thrashed" but has aftermarket ECU and 4-stage boost control. I wonder if could explain even half of the fabled $140,000 spent on a DVD player, exhaust, etc.

What a scam. Who the hell buys an R34 GTR and doesnt know the specs for it? a F#cking moron w#nker does. the number plates read "GTR 26V". you think the seller would know what the 26 would mean eh? i hate these people who try and rip others off. reminds me of an R33 GTR i saw on drive.com.au for $9,900. Bollocks!!! One of the most definite signs you can tell its a scam, is they tell you to send the payment to an overseas account, or is if the car is overseas but they will ship it to you.

extractors hey.... interesting. hahahaha where did he install those?

Out of all the mods you would install on a GTR, why the F!#k would you go for extractors haha. I bet the seller stole picture of someones else's Gtr and posted as his. Ebay I swear is a scamers paradise, damn scamers alwell some poor soul usually fall for it so be careful.

usually addressed as " dr john smith " or some shit like that. oh no. its not fake at all

    • He has an aftermarket hanger, it just sounds like your setup is much better then his.  It doesn't sound crazy at all to me, to install an aftermarket hanger and end up backwards compared to the factory setup.  Have a look at the tiny sock/filter/pickup on his fuel pump, surely the factory item is much much longer and I bet, better positioned as well.
    • Why are people so insistent on making dirty water?!
    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
