hi all did a quick search and found not much at all regarding cargo area mats, i am looking at getting one done for the rear of my series 2 and was wondering if there would be any interest in a group buy perhaps?, i have found someone that is willing to embroider them in a design size around 8 inches high for the unicorn symbol and text around 3 inches high of the word stagea in the corect font.

if there is any interest please let me know and i will look into the group buy thing a bit further.

biggest trouble i am having is finding a nice enough carpet that does not cost the earth with a waterproof backing, and is a reasonable pile length and colour.

Iva Forrester and i use the plastic cargo mat from it in the Stagea. My S1 has a set of five floor mats with Stagea insignia.

What i would really like for the cargo space is a mat with unicorns and Stagea

but would like the mat togo up the rear of the back seats with the emblem and name on the vertical section when the seats are up. That would be cool.

My spare wheel cover has a plastic sheet under it with horse (unicorn?) shoes

and the unicorn emblem all over it. Have no idea what it is for.

that one is too hang over the back tailgate while changing skies or shoes, well thats what the stagea handbook shows. love the gimmicks all over these stageas, they rock

interested, is it possible to get the underside rubber backed.. so it can be flipped for teh animals...

Me too, depending on price. The rubber backing is a good idea!

yes they would be rubber backed and this would be stitched on as well as adhered to the rear of the carpet so it doesn't bubble up etc.

i dont know how it would go being pushed up the back of the seat unless you had some way of fastening it there say velcro tabs or something.

i am hoping that all done with rubber backs that they will come in under $150 as the decent carpet itself can be anywhere from 60 to 80 by itself and the rubber backed stuff can be even dearer dependant on the type of rubber used then you have the embroidering on top of that!.

i will be looking into it either way as i need one for my car,so once i know a bit more i will let you all know.

hey tangles how much did yours cost you by the way?or was it in the car when you got it?

also guys is there any difference between series 1&2 in the back cos i thought they were the same from the A pillar back?

Already in the car. Came that way, with insignias etc.

In fact Im meant to be taking a tracing outline of it and sending that to beastien - already outlined the floor mats, just not the rear boot floor mat. Ive sort of been leaving it, as my knees are just so sore and I dont want to kneel down and trace it (got nowhere else to do it unfortunatey, got to get down on my knees, but not looking forward to the consequences - yes my knees are that bad).

Maybe you should contact Brendan (beastien) and find out what he was going to do about the cargobay floor mat, seeing he was going to do a group buy for the 5 floor mats. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...=96719&hl=floor

Cheers, Brendan (tangles)

  • 2 weeks later...

I would be interested but would want something that covered the whole area for when the rear seats are down.

I have them down 99% of the time.

I would really love a high density foam rubber mattress cut to shape to fit in the back with the seats folded down trimmed in a nice fabric that matches the interior

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
