hahah pete we saw yuor lock ups after trying to flat thru the kink.....skylines are just too fast to pull that trick off without great tyres.

but the mighty woos used to be flat thru there, led to some HGE offs there sometimes

sadly my balls are bigger than my skills ... thus the constant lock ups and spearing of the end of the track

but like all good drivers im going to blame teh car... :worship:

hi never done a track day but am interested, what would tyre wear be like on road tyres ,would i need a new set after the day?

slight mods with 290rwkw & ohlins suspension all round

not aiming to drive the tyres off it, but have heard that the track eats street tyres!

YLD CHLD,

For your first time out I would not worry too much about Tyres or Power, just dont turn up with shitty tyres as they are the only thing holding you on the road. If you put the recomended pressure say 36PSI you wont get any issues and maybe use 500km worth of tread and only do 200Km on the speedo. You are driving a GTR so endless wheel spin will not be an issue. Trust me you have many other things to learn and you car is well set up for a first timer.

guys this sounds great. I have been planning to do this sort of driver training/ track day for a while now. Never been on the track before though. Will there be at least some beginner level training with the instructors?

Overall the day sounds great ill arrange day off and send application if all goes well.

TutsR32,

Aaron or one of the other instructors takes all first timers out driving to show you the inital basics, you then get to drive with an instructor to apply the basics. First timers normally get as much instruction as they need. For example my wife had an instructor on her first day, every lap she did prior to lunch was with someone beside her. There will be more then enough.

    • Ha ha ha, that's fair mate! We have the crackhead dogs now. Mainly because the missus wants the crazy dogs while she still has the energy and capacity to be able to keep up with them! Ha ha our current two are both Working GSD, there brothers and sisters (from the same litters) are in Police, Corrective Services, and I believe one did end up in defence force too. They're wild and fun, yet right now, both curled up asleep on the lounge room floor while we watch some TV. Mal is very likely the next dog (unless I get my couch potato guardian dog 😛 )   What are your Kitties names? Are you planning some house work, like those high kitty shelves, built in scratching post, and some cat passages from one room to another room?
    • Maine Coone, did look at but to big and fluffy As for performance dogs, we had Mals at work, performance dogs are fun to watch, but, way to much work for this old rooster
    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
