Just a really quick/simple question for you all...

Slotted rotors - are they cast with the slots, or do they have the slots machined into a blank disc?

Reason i ask is i'm chasing some DBA4909 (DBA4000 Slotted rotors for R32 GTS-t) at the moment, and DBA have told the guy sourcing them for me that the only ones the have left in Stock in Australia is one pair of non-slotted DBA4000 rotors, and that they'll send them off to be slotted, and bobs your uncle... DBA 4000 Slotted Rotors?

does this sound right to you, or are they being dodgey?

Even better all up get slotted and dimpled from RDA!!!

DBA are a great brand and RDA aswell and i cannot tell the difference but RDA do slotted with dimpled rotors which are a one of a kind and if you get them off Ebay in the UK they will be here in a week and VERY! cheap. If you want them in australia be prepared to pay

I also think they are zinc plated to iliminate rust.

lol RDA = Rotors and Drums Australia. How crazy that they ship to the UK, sell it there and ship it back for less than you can buy locally. Having said that check the RDA group buy in the group buy section the prices are excellent

sorry im really new to everything with cars, I have spent time and money buying different Rotors for my 4door 34 ive had my rotors machined twice so im going to need to get new ones, ive tried 4 different sets, from RDA the ones they suggested i use and then ones off the actual measurements off the old ones, we got close on the last set, which im sure was 265 x 30 but i needed 265 x 25.

I was thinking of getting a blank set in the size and getting them drilled thats why i asked about drilling, but now im being told they dont do one off blanks. it was a year or so ago, just trying to remember the actual size, will get them measured in a few days once i get paid, all i know is RDA in the end couldn't help me, they went through their books and we tried what they had, i read another post a while back someone had posted up the measurements of a few different skyline rotor sizes but mine was not on them, so i left it for a while as the machining cleared up my shuddering again, all is still well at the moment but im sure within 6 months i will definitely be needing to change the rotors.

anyone ever heard of this problem, or know a solution?

whats an upgrade to GTT Brakes worth?

rda slotted rotors are sweet and great value for money. Only thing is that the zinc coating is crap n mine started to get that rusty colour pretty quick. Iv since removed them all again and paointed them all up with caliper paint on those sections (now also matches wheels n body colour)

so if you get the RDA ones make sure u do this unless you like the 'rugged rusty look'.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
