next to No-one does it.

TOSHI from these forums is the only one that I know that has done it.

but it is at least 2 times the cost of an R32 one.

I'd just buy a PFC for $950 for an R33 than a remap

if you got a remap and then did some more mods, to re-tune it, you would have to buy a new chip as they are not re-writable so to speak.

pfc can be tuned over and over.

Thanks GTST just tring to find a cheeper option than having to buy a power FC then having to spend extra again on a tune. If I could get the stock ECU tuned for around or under the 1000 mark it would be worth it if I had no plans for future mods. The tune would be for a car with an aftermarket turbo, Z32 airflow meter, injectors and fuel pump. I dont know if its possible to get this standard ECU retuned with this amout of mods but im just trying to find a cheeper option.

I have heard that Dr drift retunes chips but I cant find his website or email address.

Dr Drift does not do R33 chips... YET.. I'm sure he'll work something out but not yet.

It's up to you but just remember, that the r33 chips that TOSHI does are right once type chips.

basically, he will do a dyno run, look at the a:f mixtures and make changes to a chip, burn it, put it on your ecu, do another run.

if it is off, he will do another..

it takes long and could cost close to a PFC.

Honestly, I am probably the thightest person you'll find on these forums and if I had an R33 and was at the stage of ECU, I would not even think twice about and would buy a PFC straight up.

I mean, when you get it, you can plug it in to where your factory one sits and DRIVE to the dyno place that you choose to tune it.

and EVERYONE knows how to tune a PFC.

if you want to do it bodgey, get an SAFC and ITC (controlls timing) and get someone to plug them in and tune.

your choice..

    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG is has not responded to my emails so far after purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
    • I would say no, why, because my daughter, who also lives in Goulburn, hasn't recommended us going there Pity, as we miss all the German joints around in Sydney, actually, the restaurants are the only thing I really miss about Sydney, and a special mention to Ishibanboshi at Bondi Junction, their Kara-age Don is heart cloggingly deliciousness (always added a special boiled egg...or 2) 😋
