lol is there some sort of anti lag and launch control feature?

I wish..

f**k I just read it... Its madness, this guy is a god.

Do you have a link to the latest build? Save me wading through 400 posts.

And he's even considering launch control and antilag...

Hmmm.. their database looks as solid as SAU's :)

Hi ppls,

I've been following the development of FC-Tune for quite some time now.

It appears its finally on its last stages of development.

Here...

and look at this nice little piece

I've made sure FCTune works with the R32 RB20DET powerfc's.

If those who have other power fc models which to make it work simply download 0.53 or 0.54 beta release and perform a scan with the datalogit box hooked up.

Post it to him and hopefully you should receive an email stating its all a.o.k. :)

Very Impressive

andre is busy adding features and making it work. a new version is scheduled to come out in a week 0.55 (current is 0.54). i am not sure when rb25det will be supported (or rb26). he seems more intested in honda (as he has one with him and rx7 also). so they get priority i would assume. he has also redone the interface in fc tune to be around the styles of the new office 2007 layout and pictures.

the fc tune is designed as a multi ecu tune software, he plans to support autronic and other ecu's later on.

the box/cable dongle he will be selling he plans to offer flash upgrades for it. it will work with kashima's dongle/cable and fc datalogit versions also and his own.

andre has also made some custom devices for the powerfc (and his interface) but they are coming at a later stage. he made a DIN sized head uit that controlled his stereo, powerfc map switching and some custom guage display unit.

andre has also opened up the old powerfcs (say 2.32 pfc) and 5.1 ish versions and 7.x versiosn and found that the older one's arent flashable but the newer versions are reflashsable and have an onboard connector (he believes for apexi staff and excel tuners to change custom stuff).

i have also seen/heard of people have their stock PFC sent to apexi to rechipped as PRO version, not sure who/how/$$$ on this one and if its available.

the auto tune feature sounds very cool using wideband as real time input and its just mathematics from there onwards. IGN autotune would be fantastic and certainly possible, relying on the stock knock sensors (assuming it was safe and acceptable). i mean i rely on the stock knock sensors to IGN tune so i dont see why a computer program cant

Interesting, is there any advantage to this software over the datalogit program that most poeople use.

Is datalogic as available and free?

I will be putting together a 26/30 soon and am unsure what pfc i will buy (rb20/25/26) to run it in my r32, this software looks fantastic.

Even though i have a dyno i wont be doing the tuning so would i be better off just going to a place with the datalogit and getting them to tune it.

Sorry if slightly off topic, Mick

Ive found datalogit software buggy, unreliable and generally sucky.

The interface is crap, if you load the software and hit enter with nothing else it loads a stock tune directly on your powerfc (assumiing its plugged in).

The logging is a bit strange (basic + advanced, why two??)

It certainly does function, and offer what is promiseb but IMHO its a very poor attempt and the VB code sucks, worst environment ever.

FC Tune is done in high level C so its portable between platforms and PDA's etc are supported.

You don't need FC Tune/Datalogit but the main advantages are;

Able to edit AFM ramp (useful if using Z32,Q45 and want to rescale it).

Able to save/load tunes

Can do map tracer plotting a sensor. ie: Knock Map which plots knocking values (either min, max, avg) onto a Map Tracer window so you can see what cells knock more than others

Can do tune compare between .dat files

I've done wideband tuning on the road and IGN tuning on the road without doing it via datalogit but it was easier to IGN timing adjustments with datalogit and knock map cos i could easily spot. i found it a little cumbersome using the stock map tracer and watching for engine check light to inidicate high amounts of knock. it was also much more easier when seeing areas that didnt knock much, or very low.

Fc tune is certianly the preferred and ideal one to use, I cant wait for it to be done for RB25

    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
    • Yes then it will turn on but I want the car features to work
    • My thought is if you were just moving it forward and the upstream geometry remained the same, then no difference at all. But because the current one has the filter direct into the AFM inlet, you effectively have the best chance of a completely symmetric air flow profile upstream, and in, the AFM, whilst the aftermarket inlet thingo has a (small, to be sure) bend between the filter and the AFM. That would bias the flow to the outside of the bend (downstream of the bend) which might well reduce the size of the signal seen by the AFM, for the same total flow rate. Having said that: If you're proposing to make your inlet look like a hybrid of your existing one and the aftermarket one, such that there is no bend where the filter is clamped on... then I say it will be just fine. If there is going to be such a bend, then, if you can align the insertion of the AFM blade such that it is at right angles to the plane of the bend, then there is a better than even chance that the centreline velocity where the blade is will remain more or less the same, and the velocity will just be a little faster to the outside of that, and just a little slower to the inside. **This is not professional investment advice and you should consult a suitably qualified ouija board, tea leaves or the intestines of a goat for more accurate prognostication.
    • Hi Tao, Thanks for your reply.  It's been a while and I managed to get the valve stem seals replaced with the head on the car.  Unfortunately this didn't solve my issue, the car still smokes a lot after idling (to be honest during idle you can see a bit of blue smoke from the exhaust), same after deceleration. I will try disconnecting the valve cover breathers, do I leave the PCV valve in? By engine oil drain pipe, do you mean the turbo oil drain?
    • What about if you just give it direct 12v and earth?
