slide highflow, no idea on how long but probably not that much long... they said they had to 'modify' the wastegate actuator (ie bend it) so it would shut the wastegate fully, maybe thats still a problem, is it really that bad?

It isnt thaaaat bad (Well it kinda is)

My turbo was heaps laggy for a little while then it loosened up and came much better

yeah i'm doing that now,

driving it it actually sits on 8psi for some reason before continuing onto full boost, doesnt swing right round like it should?

What boost controller are you using? they can help lag to a degree

In any case you need injectors before you can do anything as they are out of flow at about 200rwkw...not mercury 200rwkw real 200rwkw

its funny you say that andy as the more i drove it tonight the better it seemed to be, the turbo did sit for a couple of weeks before it got installed so maybe that was something to consider too?

i just thought that they are supposed to make full boost before 4000rpm.

and yeah yeah, the sheet still says 200 something so im happy :) althought the injectors are out of puff

i used to have a turbotech one but they said it wasnt holding boost (although was working fine when i drove the car over to them?) but i got them to show me the dyno data which proved it, so now it has a simple gfb bleed valve conrolling boost.

They also had problems with the wastegate actuator (the one on the highflow was stuffed) so they swapped over my old one but had to bend it to make the wastgate function properly? wierd... hmmm

shane do you have msn?

certianly do [email protected]

having a dodgey ass bleed valve controlling boost and expecting it to be 'good' i should come over there and slap u myself :) get a real boost controller i.e Blitz ID3

Yeah when I put mine on it didnt get full boost till 4700 it had been sitting a year...now it can do 1.3 bar by 3300

ur budget is probably alot more than mine, real world example would be comparing nasa space program with indias space program  (yes i am india!)

Most cases I have seen show the turbotech holding boost pretty well, what more do you want?? Oh wait the pretty screen :) Seriously for medium boost levels a bleed shouldnt be causing too many problems

shane is right, you cant expect to get decent or consistent boost out of a dodgy bleed valve, even cheaper electronic boost controllers will do a much much better job. Go to www.nengun.com and find yourslef a new one asap!

pffft as if, y do u think i do everything myself? if i paid a worshop to do all my work i wouldnt be ablke to afford to do what im doing

well alot of people use them no problem, i'm only running 13psi it should be able to handle that

says the man with an avcr

now bed bye :)

i've seen cases of a screw in a piece of vaccum hose hold boost o.k on higher hp cars but still....an ebc can do more than give you a pretty screen, not to mention safety side of things. I remember when i was driving my car one day my ebc came up with a warning and wouldnt let me boost over .7bar because a vaccum hose had come lose and if i hadn't had an ebc I wouldnt have had that function. It could have saved me running unlimited boost and a lot of money.

well alot of people use them no problem, i'm only running 13psi it should be able to handle that

yea it should but ebc's arent that expensive and if anything at least you have piece of mind, plus you can change and monitor boost levels from the cabin.

no but cost of parts alone i would say would easily be double my whole cars budget?

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
