Oh...

I need pictures and a full explination... Col runs to call Josh...

I’ll edit the movie of the chaz getting pulled out, but yeah we went down the f**king cliff!! Very lucky we didn’t go off a straight drop off, or roll on the roof ect ect.

In fact, within 2 meters of were we came off and stopped, it was a 600+ drop off.. Scary stuff. So much could have gone wrong, and for what ever reason we ended up walking out.. And doing a mission up this hill.

Basically it’s one of the more serious roads we have.. It had wet spots, came in too hard, and it was pretty much over.

I know Flaxton & Montville quite well...

You are very lucky some of those drop offs are HUGE...

Plus with no barrier is most areas makes it even more dangerous...

Lucky!!!

Some of those corners in the 80 zone have a suggested speed of 60 and they should be more like 30... Quite a dangerous road really...

sounds lik eyou ave created a monster there col

Oh yeah I have a smile from ear to ear, It is going to go "HARD"

Ive just got a little work to do before driving it (on old fuel maps, throughing fuel out the back in huge black clouds :ninja:) but its Nays Birthday today so im banned from the Garage for today...

and good to hear your car's running col,

Yeah im quite supprised it started straight away and idled quite well...

I had to rebuild the CAS with new bearings and make a jig to break open the sealed unit, I was told to buy a referb unit and forget trying to replace the bearings but Nays dad got to work on it and 2 hours later after much head scratching it had new bearings in it...

So yeah i was quite supprised as to how well it ran after not being started in almost 2 months and with half an engine rebuild...

Yeah im considering buying the .63 and bolting it up as im worried im only gonna make boost at like 4500rpm with the 0.82 with out cams, but i have advanced the exhaust cam with a cam gear to help hit it a bit sooner...

Free reving in the drive way up to 5000rpm last night got me 1.3psi so ill wait til its on the dyno before i run out and order the smaller housing...

Im in the hunt for an oil cooler at the moment as im gonna need it i reckon...

One of my mates has a .63 on his car and he gets full boost at 3700rpm but when it hits it is really hard to get the power down. .82 might be the best compromise I think! But it will be interesting to see thats for sure

You could use an SBC ID -III like mine and stage the boost...

So its like 12psi at 3700rpm and then it ramps up toe 18psi at say 4500rpm...

So set the gain really low so it ramps up to 18psi over a 400-500rpm gap...

That matt black RX7 looks like a chalk board... silly imo.

The blue is nice, but doesn't really suit a R32 GTR

lol Charade crashing... as if go on a mountain run in a charade... or anything FWD for that matter... understeer = death on the mountain!

fwd can be just as good as rwd if set up properly, u can over steer in a rwd and do the same quite easily.

Couldnt belive that ian did a front wheel skid the other day. we were like WTF! this is AWD......then we reallised it was because his handbrake locked up the rear wheels.....lmao!

You could use an SBC ID -III like mine and stage the boost...

Hey how is that? Does it seem to work well?

When I was buying andy's last year, he had the choice between the profec b spec 2 or the sbc i-color. Personally, I would've chosen the i-color :) - he was just thinking of my bank balance :P

    • Reading through the engine service manual their advice is do a cylinder balance test. Unplug one injector at a time and see if the idle drops a consistent RPM. You can also do this using a Consult cable which is easier. They also call for unplugging the power transistor, then with the engine off and the fuel rail unhooked from the manifold verifying that you have good fuel flow (even injection, no dripping/leaks, etc) when you twist the CAS by hand. Also verify the spark by pulling the spark plugs and allowing the plugs to ground and turning the CAS by hand. I would also start doing the sensor checks and idle valve checks in service manual. Make sure the MAF tests reasonably, the intake air regulator is sane, etc. You may have to get new spark plugs.
    • This sounds very old of me, however since buying the Tiguan shit box, my view on shit boxes have changed.
    • I've looked up the parts number (41011AL501). It's around $700 OEM. Usually our Infiniti G35 here in Canada have interchangeable parts with my Stagea but the parts number are not the same. I have looked around and it seems the JDM 2005 V35 Skyline (which is the same as our G35) has the same caliper but I cannot confirm. And I can't find a repair kit. The inner brake pads drags on the rotor, seems to be rusty piston. Thanks for the info by the way
    • This coupled with 6-9 speed autos with ridiculously short gearing is why these modern shitbox cars always seem so fast off the line. If it wasn't for those things, Raptors would not seem fast. The problem we have is there is a driveability gap between a more gentle take off and a wheelspinning sideways launch. The difference between ankle flex required to achieve one and ankle flex required to achieve the other is about 0.5°.
    • Yeah I think I'm also with the opposite here. It's 'hard to keep up with traffic' because in the real world I'm accelerating with 15% throttle and they are pinning it. It feels like I'm being an overt dickhead at anything above 15% throttle, so the car sounds like I'm being an overt dickhead to keep up with/get ahead of traffic when I'm really just trying to drive with traffic. There would be no issue 'keeping up with traffic' if we used the same level of throttle input/aggression to drive around. People really do just drive around with their foot nearly pinned in econoboxes.
