Hey Nicky in all seriousness I do like the skevy. It's something different and I admire you for doing it. And you did it well. I only say the things I do because we have a joke about it.

But it is nice to see someone put that much love Into a car

Don't know if I said it before but good job on the conversion :) it's a good car in my eyes :P

Except that spedo.. Fix that sh*t

this sums up how I feel.

nik knows it.

Haha no need to go full love, if the hate stopped I'd think something was wrong with you gays. I was just clearing it up for #...

So what's the go today?

Pay you out because I know the feeling, wars that strange noise get home *knock knock I knock knock*

And yes it's like random people that come into a servo at the same time for coffee/redbull in the morning lol

No not exactly, just giving a bit of insight as to why I don't ark up over it

And because no ones means anything by it, sure some may not like or ever consider doing such a thing. But each to their own. Biggest upside i can see to the conversion is the weight loss, and displacement increase is a good combo......but i will never yield to the auto box idea, every auto should go burn in a fire and get replaced for manuals or DSG's.

Your speedo doesnt work? A work mate had (recently stolen) a V8 hilux 4x4 which had speedo issues because he needed an adapter for the computer to speedo.

Chris and I must of been going mad on the way home, we had conversations about everything from "why some shops are stupid as their target market is so tiny" to singing Allanis Morreset in falceto for 3 minutes... God damn two light beer

#ruthless badassery

God damn two light beer.

#ruthless badassery

so true...I had a headache after 3.....terrible.

Back to your car, the Hilux drank fuel like a fish till he got that module sorted, something about the computer not knowing how fast it's actually going.

More to the point, regardless of what I say it's always going to be crap in youse guys eyes hell it could run a 10 second pass and would still get payed out. People tend to knock what they don't understand, so you keep telling yourself that your cars better than mine... Cause at the end of it all I couldn't give a rats ass what the Nissan fanboys think of it. Real car people appreciate everything.

Well said,

I'll pay out on you anyway, but i'll always have a soft spot for the abomination, however small it may be, might have been those 2 weeks or so i had, alone, with it...

We were going crazy, but were sane enough to know it. Morning all

I have been paying him out on his car long before the ls1 went in. Nick knows it just a bit of friendly banter, just the ls1 gave me more material to work with :P

I mean the first time I met him, he rolled up loud as drone coming from the car with big arse chrommies on it. Then saw the p plates and realize it was an auto. But for some reason I kept inviting him to runs we were doing and to drinks sessions and my birthday parties.

Nope, like i said to Chris in the car ride home there's no point reacting to it, I don't have to prove anything to you.

Plus in when your not grouped up in your little clique I know the car has a lot of admirers and I've had alot more positive stuff said than negative... And all the negative stuff only comes from narrow minded Nissan purists anyway.

I'm not a Nissan purist. I just don't see the point in taking the motor out of a heavy and underpowered car and putting it into another heavy and underpowered car.

What is the point of half the shit people do to cars though if not for their own satisfaction or just to be different?

    • After using a protractor for an actually accurate assessment of what is required,  and by NOT using my uncalibrated eyeball I worked out I need a 25° silicone bend from the TB ro the MAF, but, my choice was either a 30° or a 23° (23° is a weird spec), so I grabbed the 23° one from Raceworks I also grabbed 1mtr of 3" straight from Just Jap, I needed 350mm, but they only had 300mm, or 1mtr lengths....meh Also ordered a 1/2" hose bulkhead fitting from fleabay, this has a smoothish mushroom looking head (they are designed for below the water line of boats) that will fit inside the bend, the hose bit and threaded bit looks to long, but nothing that a hacksaw cannot fix if required, the hose will then just get jamed on the threaded bit up to the retaining nut Fingers crossed and the unsightly amount of hose clamps will be reduced down to 4 once all the parts arrive
    • Oil change does not trigger code 21. Code 21 is for coilpacks primary side connection. You can try to clear the code with a battery disconnect, hold down the brake pedal to drain capacitors through the brake lights with the ignition on for 10-15 seconds before you reconnect the battery. I have seen R35 coil conversion permanently cause this code with no ill effects so it might be the resistance it wants to see isn't quite right on one or more coilpacks. Could be inside the ECU, could be the harness, could be a coil. You can test it all if you want or just ignore until the car actually starts misfiring.
    • I forgot you have a Nistune ECU. Use Nistune to do all the tests I mentioned instead of faffing with 30+ year old electrical connectors. You can read MAF volts off that too, there are reference values in the service manual to tell you roughly what it should be in different conditions.
    • No. I think it might be the AFM. Hence the use of the terms "swaptronics", which implies the use of swapping out electronics for the purpose of diagnosis. It's about the only way to prove that a small/niggling/whatever problem with an AFM or a CAS or similar is actually caused by that AFM/CAS/whatever. A known good item swapped in that still gives the same problem is likely to be caused somewhere else. They're all the same. Spraying AFMs with cleaner is an each way bet between cleaning it and f**king it.
    • Oh wow! This might actually work amazingly. Do you know the ratio of the diff? I was told the only thing you need to make sure of is if the front & rear diff ratios are the same. Ours is a 4.083 Thanks!
