yeah rhys millen set up the Evo's for the movie (all the stunt ones were RWD from memory), and he's no stranger to em...

love the number of cameo's in the movie from "people in the industry" that you'd only pick up if you weren't a newbie.

They should have a spinoff TV show or something on it about the life of Han... he's probably the only character that's even half decent in all 3 fast n furriest movies.

As for the cars in the movie... all of the hero cars (with the exception of the S15) are available in the US. US movie, US cars. What bollocks... only a splattering of S13's, AE86's and Skylines for "oh shit it must really be japan" sake.

overall fairly lame .... a lot of the tokyo scenes are very fake. Its a very American supposed to be in Japan movie.

haha ye dude, a lot of the city scenes were shot in downtown LA and made it look like tokyo

Best Cameo ever award, TSUCHIYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wehn Vin did turn up in the moive, the crowd i was with let out a long groan, uhhhhhh...........

You could hear who the real car enthusiast's were though, because when that S15 hit the pole sideways, some laughed and others nearly threw up.....

it was an ok flick.

Damn right there mate, cringed everytime that crunched that silvia. Stupid thing was that when he crashes the Evo at the docks against various things, it seems like that car was made of rubber...just didnt have any effect on its bodywork at all!

Too many american accents for it be in 'Tokyo' for my liking.

The thing that did it for me was when they were in the RX7 and the R34 blasts past on the wangan...that sweet RB sound...then it got better when he 'hits the gas' and bounces that 13B off the limiter. Two of my favourite sounds in the world - shame though, if only they had really buzzed that rotary instead of just dubbing the sound over! (If you dont know what im on about, watch the tacho vs the sound)

Final word - surpisingly not totally crap.

Gotta love that Nismo Mustang. >_< I'm sure it would have made a few V8 fanboy's cringe, but still very sweet.

yeah that'll be to appease all the american fanboys who seem to want to stick RB engines into everything from their 240sx's to their hondas.

Over here its cool to put a LS1 in a skyline shell that you pick up for a couple of grand :D Or actually own a mustang with a proper ford engine... now that's an achivement.

the album for this movie is awesome, it does my stereo system justice.

although, i feel weird driving around in my commodore with the jap music LOL, but then again, ive ussualy got the bass up and the treble down, and my tweeters are ussualy disabled so all i can here is doof doof fkn doof....

anyways, album = cool, go get it biatches.

EDIT :

Hey, what do you guys rekon of a prequal for this movie? my brother was saying they should do a prequal of when vin dick..i mean diesel was friends with han, i rekon that would be pretty cool but i think it would be unrealistic for them to focus on muscle cars, UNLESS they base it back in america, wich would be gay, damn americans.

Also, have any of you seen "Shuto Kousoku Trial 3". It stars keiichi tsuchiya and its meant to be the movie that inspired the fast and the furious.

i just got it but havent bothered to watch it because it looks really...really old, BUT..i did see a gtr in it so i might watch it :D

Man that album is soo warped. Only good track on it is the Mustang Nismo, cos no screechy Jap girl is squealing in it. OK maybe thats a bit harsh but damn japanese have some weird music. :D

Prequal would sound pretty good too. At least Forrest would be gone. "Life is like a box o' used spark plugs..."

Shuto Kousoku is a series of 6 movies or something from way back in the day that basically covers the highway racing/culture of the time. I think the first one dosen't have Tsuchiya, but the rest have em (2 thru to 6). I remember getting it on VHS aaages ago, might still have it around.

The soundtrack was ghey. The only decent tracks in it were the ones by the Teriyaki Boys (the title song, not that rubbish with daddy yankee), Slash and Evil Nine. The rest was just reggaeton/hip hop garbage strung together to sell to the masses. And yeah J-Pop/Electronica sucks balls.

on the plane on the way over to Japan Rhys Millen and that Apex dude from the US r sitting in front of that hill billy main character too.

350's looked sick, RX7 was f**king awesome, the Evo just pissed me off...

Movie was entertaining...but shit

I bought the album the other day and enjoy quite a few of the tracks, especially DJ Shadow feat. Mos Def - "Six Days" but on the album it doesnt have "Whistle Song by Juelz Santana does yours have it? because on Amazon it seems to be on it. >_<

i ve seen number 2 i think, main 2 cars are a black Supra and a midnight purple R33 GTR, also has tsuchiya driving the NSX on a track

If they were to only use your common everyday S13 - S15 in th emovie, then how damn boring would that have been...

Also if you did your reasearch...or even put 2 and 2 together, you will realise that the EVO was built by Rhys Millan, and no longer AWD.

damn betme to what i was gonna say to that post lol.

i liked it, way better than the 2nd one, but of course nothing beats the origional.

    • Please use a modern ECU. PowerFC with the Nintendo Gameboy controller is horrible. It's not 2005 anymore.
    • The car/ECU will have all the sensor that it needs and expect to have. I think i do not have to explain to you how the Link is way better specialy if you have swapped engine   I just do not want to deal with any "problems" cuz i have only Nistune which i learned is not that great and in my case cant even deal with that speed problem (Link can) And of course it will be way more easier to tune and diagnose and safe. And for the ECU/speed problem...i dont know.
    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
