Hi all!

Since I last owned my 32 I have had a couple of 4WD's and a Harley. After recently getting married I have decided to get back to what I know and love.....SKYLINES Problem is I have been out of it for so long I don't know where to start.

Can you give me some suggestions for how, where etc I can get my hands on a tidy (stockish) R32 GTS-t.

Looking at spending around the 13k mark (see above...married) and am really not sure if there are dealers that sell them at this price or if there are guys on here who import for others to buy etc....

Basically I am super keen to get a 32 and need to act now while all parties involved are cool with the idea >_<

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts, buying a car, modding it up and catching up with a few old friends.

I know of a Silver 89 GTS-t 5 speed that hasn't been complied yet , bought in under 15 year rule and is pretty much stock. Brad

Just talked to him and $12k for that 1 and he's got a Blue GTS-4 on the wharf at the moment as well .

Was going to ask you a few questions, I'll pm them :D

Good luck with getting a nice skyline, i hope it has the same standard as your last R32!

Good luck finding one Cam

PS i knew you would be back

Hey Mick.....this is awesome :) Back in the day I had a really good idea about most of the regular contributors, who they were, what they drove, what sort of person they were.....all these names coming back, it's cool.....bringing back many memories.

You mean this shirt :D This is my mate Luke talking to "URMINE" from Sydney when he and a group came up for the Very first (rained out) Drag Combat. That was the shirt we made for our little Toowoomba group called DUEL....since disbanded.

Aaah yes i was thinking about duel after i made the post, and what did end up happening with urmine? His skyline got stolen and that was the last i heard i think.

Thanks for the pic they were the shirts i was talking about they were a good laugh back then, i have since matured somewhat :(

We should organise another skidpan event for the oldschool members, that was a good day.

Mick

Thanks to all the replys so far....so do any of you recomend any yards in brisbane or the coasts?? I don't have to buy from a yard but having some sort of warranty (however good) is always a bonus.

I guess the only issue with buying from a yard is you end up paying more than you should ??

    • Man, different parts but the same numbers is terrible @dbm7! And it doesn't help that most online shops don't list the part numbers at all. They just give a list of compatible models...
    • Slow when hot could also be because its getting more dynamic compression, OR things are getting a bit tighter once it is all expanded. If it were an earthing issue, typically I'd expect you to have it have issues all the time. Unless it's really a combination of both things. Where the higher compression, and things being a bit tighter, is giving that bit of extra load and you do need a slight clean up on the cables/connections.
    • Yeah, this is one of the most annoying things about nissan part numbers... I've got an unrelated example... Image is of the AT output shaft ~ they have the same part#, but clearly the shaft on the left is beefier design to that on the right ...the difference (essentially) is the 'lighter' shaft on the right, is for engines up to RB25DE (this includes RB20 variants) : the shaft on the left is for RB25/26DET(T)....are they interchangeable? Yes...but obviously one shaft is going to be stronger than the other...and, the lighter shaft is around USD115, but the heavier shaft closer to USD150...same part#... ...epc-data usually tells a tale ~ the amayama listing for 39100-23U60 has a note "Longest side is between 60 and 105 cm" ; no such info is there for 39100-23U70 ...and given the great disparity in price between the 2 parts, it makes me at least curious (to the point of caution) where the 'extra money' went? ...ie; these 2 parts have a cost difference that (to myself at least) isn't explained by 'plastic boot'...ie; with amayama there's AUD700 price difference ...plastic versus rubber?...I'm not seeing it like that...and 60cm ~ 105cm...??...that's a huge disparity....something hinky going on here... I'd try searching by VIN, not model... /2cents
    • I don't know for sure, but I'd expect them all to be interchangeable given the diff end and hub end don't move/change between any C34 series. Often Nissan will change part numbers and the aftermarket follows those year ranges; but the original part number change doesn't mean other parts won't fit. The change could be a change in material, internal parts or even just supplier. For example, all the RB gearbox to engine bolts are no longer available and there is a new part number instead. The only change is they went from cadmium plated bolts to zinc plated due to the issues manufacturing with Cadmium. They look different but work the same.
