I like chatswood area too but screw buying here. $800,000 for a cottage...

I ended up buying a place in Marsfield which is two suburbs over from Chatswood. Not too far so you cant go there when you want but far enough so that the Chatswood traffic doesn't worry me as much.

As well as house prices being $100 - $300k cheaper.

im looking for a place myself but finding the interest rates on a loan are killing hte idea quick

public transport from btown area = 45-50 mins with the newER schedules, evry 15 mins with xpress from btown at the 30-35 mins, feel your pain, i work 10hr+ days to, you in I.T. aswell ? ehahahhahaAHHA

sooooOO many I.T. freaks driving lines.... people in I.T. like their pony's eh

Look, most people are NEVER going to say where they live sucks, but at least some can give you the bad points vs the good points

All I see is bad points damn your oily hides!

Someone make good points ><

well i'll make some good points for you.

pretty much anywhere within 5kms of the city centre (perhaps exclude south of city as you hit redfern) is a good bet. You will be close to transport, close to the city and potential work. Close to nice places to go out etc. and possibility of a nice view too.

as for parking the easy option is buy a place with either a garage or secure car space. It's never been an issue for me.

Plus being close to the city just about gaurentee good capital gains and good rent return down the track if need be.

I love the Hills. I love being able to walk around the suburb at night for 2 hours and see maybe 3 cars drive past. I also love being able to drive for 5mins before seeing any traffic.

^^ good points re: my area.

Oh, also, I have lots of bushland around me. LOTS. It's prettiful.

Hell I work in Cumberland Forest!! :)
