Bush Replacement & Suspension Upgrades

Lately the skyline has not been to good in the handling department, so ive decided to replace some suspension components. The car is 93 r33gtst. I want to start by replacing the bushes as they are probaly rooted. I dont no a great deal about the suspension setup on the skyline. How many bushes are there to replace throughout the car. A rough estimate on pricing so i have a guideline when i speak to whiteline or someone who stocks the parts. As well as this i wish to know what aftermarket parts are available to aid in being able to adjust the suspension for handling purposes eg radius arms etc

At the front end the most common replacement are the bushes for the upper suspension arm (inner & outer bushes) as well as the caster rod bushes. Back end doesn't need doing so often.

Prices can be gotten from the Whiteline website as well as any number of vendors on this forum.

As for what is available - well pretty much everything. You can buy new upper arms, new lower arms, new bushes, springs, caster rods, sway bars, dampers, cancell the HICAS.... Enough bits to rebuild the whole suspension.

Most people go with a bush kit, some new coils/dampers/swaybars, some caster rods & bin the HICAS. This is a pretty comprehensive package & will transform the handling.

at the moment i have a hicas lock kit lowered springs and shocks, although the shocks are probaly f**ked as well, would replacing the bushes next seem reasonable and which ones should i do first

The adjustable ones, front caster, front camber and rear camber. They are always first on the list.

Is it worth buying adjustable castor rods which will replace my worn bushes or just replace my bushes??

I can get the adjustable castor rods installed for 330. As i beleive there is more labor in just replacin my worn castor bushes..

What do you think??

Personally i think adjustable castor rods are a great idea as long as they are of very high quality. Have a good look at them first. If they are a cheap made light item, you may be better off leaving them alone. the bushes are good. i had poly superpro in my car before i put the tein castor rods in.

How much castor does skylines need? or is it a matter of as much as you can possibly get?

Think stock is 6 deg correct of castor??

Anyways has anyone installed Justjaps adjustable castor rods? I remember someone posted on ns.com and said that those were of better built quailty than the teins??

Im guessing you would hear more road noise due to using castor rods?? Or will you feel more of the road??
