FARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRKKK!!!! now that is a burnout machine i want one of those for christmas

one turbo that size is scary 2 is just plain wrong, im speechless that thing is f*ken physco.

i wonder what 1/4 time, how it would be to drive it and how much it cost them to make it

awesome results and as said above eddy tasone was previously a big figure in drag racing in WA and he was running 9s on a N/A 383 stroker years ago (low 9's i think from memory) in his slr torana.

then the vh ran 8.1 or so and this thing is obviously abit of a dyno car rather than an out and out drag car.

why does everyone have to hang shit on any figures that come up with lame comments like "its only making .... hp, etc etc.

where is all these keyboard warriors dyno graphs? if u aint got something remotely close to that then how can u say it only made X amount of power?

all i can say is good work active automotive :D

You need to get yourself over to the 5 pager on Street Commodores where you will see the official response from Dyno Dynamics and what the actual result was +/- 10%.

Where's your dyno graph by the way?

GO EDDY!

I am known as DARE U on the Street Commodores site, you will find several posts by me on there, that is pretty much where I got the info (and the pics) for this post.

There is a report on the dyno dynamics website in regards to this, until yesterday, they thought it was a new record, and they don't make any attempt to estimate what the figure should have been, so I am not sure where "Do It Again" on the SC forum got his info from. Here is the link for the official Dyno Dynamics response http://www.dyno.com.au/news.htm#june01_Altomak

And I agree, world record or not, it is still a valiant effort for a car that is not tuned on an incomplete run. Good luck to him, I hope he does back up his figure and breaks the record.

Because they barely had time to build the motor after cracking the block on the old one.

That's right, they cracked the block on the old motor, and the new one was only put together a day or two before the event. I just heard that Eddy will be running the car again probably today or tomorrow to "see where it's at".

An interesting point though, is the fact that the power run was cut short by 1500rpm because the twin-retarder dyno was maxed out and displaying an error message. That didn't happen with Brett Waines 1470rwhp run, and no one seems to be able to say what the limit for the dyno is, but it stopped at an indicated 1895.9hp.

Does that one have to be pluged into a power point to get the electricity necessary to run it? The alternator doesn't have sufficient output to run the fuel pumps, igntion etc so it needs to be plugged into 240 volts to run.

:whistling: cheers

PS; How can it be a World Record when I saw a supercharged big block door slammer make 2500+ hp on hub dyno is Las Vegas about 10 years ago?

ALWAYS something to say

Why is the inlet temp 230 degrees celsius?

This was explained before. The sensor failed during the second run causing it to go into open circuit mode and read 230 degrees. As a result a correction value of over 30% was applied. Meaning that the run was not a record, and should have been between 1300-1400hp. Still good for an untuned car on a run which was cut 1500rpm short. Apparently Eddy is going to tune the car and re-run it and go for the record again.

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
