Hi All,

I am trying to make a comprehensive list of import cars and the years in which the different models were produced. So if you could please peruse over the information I have collected and advise me of any mistakes/inaccuracies that would be great. The purpose of making this list is so that I can classify performance parts under one of the corresponding descriptions.

The format is:

Common name (Chassis Code) Year Start/Month Start - Year End/Month End

180SX (PS13/KRS13) 89/4 - 91/1

180SX (RPS13/KRPS13) 91/1 - 93/12

180SX (RPS13/KRPS13) 94/1 - 96/7

180SX (RPS13/KRPS13) 96/8 - 99/1

180SX (All Series) 89/4 - 99/1

Silvia (PS13/KPS13) 91/1 - 93/10

200SX (S14/CS14) 93/10 - 99/1

200SX (S15) 99/1 - 02/8

R32 GTS (HR32) 89/5 - 94/11

R32 GTS-t (HCR32/HNR32) 89/5 - 93/8

R32 GTR (BNR32) 89/8 - 95/1

R33 GTS (HR33) 93/8 - 97/11

R33 GTS-25t (ECR33) 93/8 - 98/5

R33 GTR (BCNR33) 95/1 - 99/1

R34 GTS (ENR34) 98/5 - ?/?

R34 GTT (ER34) 98/5 - 01/6

R34 GTR (BNR34) 99/1 - 02/8

300ZX (Z31) 84/1 - 89/12

300ZX (Z32) 89/7 - 00/8

350Z (Z33) 02/08 - ?/?

I'm just going on what I found from catalogues and the internet, if you could provide a month and year that would be awesome. I will look into all responses though.

thanks again

R32 GTS (HR32) 89/5 - 94/11

The r32 gts/gtst was only built up to and including 1993, the only r32 built in 1994 was the gtr... at least thats what i thought, probably wrong. Also i've never heard of a 1995 r32 gtr, is there such a thing?? surely any would be worth a bit if nissan stopped production in January 1995 (assuming the above information is correct)

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
    • Or, is it a case of what it is like owning an R series Skyline? NFI what the previous owner has done or fiddled with... Ha ha ha After reading through this thread, I went on a bit of a research about the Q50/Q60. Now I'm quite intrigued by them! Is the AWD in them more like a WRX where it's always AWD, or is it more like the ATTESSA in the GTRs? By the sound of this TCU tuning, this sounds like a case of someone has made some real software for it, and you just need the right piece of hardware, and then you license that specific vehicle/TCU. Or is this a case of the software will be really expensive so only a few tuners have it, and you still have to pay a license per vehicle?
    • By popular demand.. it was a coil. Got my hands on 1 new OEM coil, replaced with the one that made the less noise difference when I unplugged it while the car was running and started the car up. No stutter and the engine light was gone. I guess I’ll buy the other 5 they have lol
