Thinking of buying my 1st car soon and was looking into the Skyline market instead of the Civic market ..

Noticed the R33, non-turbo automatic which are usually a good price (10k - 16k) :D

Just letting everyone know, only want one for looks - not for racing etc .. lol :D

So turbo, manual etc isnt really an issue for me .. Any opinions for buying one for my 1st car?

Oh and im 17 btw :D

as i know turbo/non turbo or manual/automatic cost the same, for R33 GTS25t u would pay the same like for the non turbo.

so u dun't need 2 use ure car 4 races but u can have a LOT of fun with it and if u want it 4 show, its better with turbo 'coz if u go down from the gas ure bov makes pretty sounds =D

i would recomment R33 GTS25t and could also recomment a good importer if u like

had have a R33GTS25t automatic for 2000 USD but had have 160 000Km condition was ok, clean interior

I think I'll have it for 3-4years just until I have my full license, and I agree that turbo would be good for show too but you arent aloud to have turbo on your L's or P's in New South Wales ;)

Oh and just for the record, after one exactly or similar to this:

17 years old? Go the NA. Expect to pay around 14k (give or take 1K/1.5K). The NA will be good to get practice on - jumping straight onto a turbo might be fatal if your not careful. Shop around - or look at the importers like allblitz, jspec etc. And post up pics when you do get one ;)

ok look here....

if you want a turbo and end up getting an NA, you will regret it! trust me on that 1

i bought a 93 R33 GTS4 auto not too long ago in very good condition and low Ks, only ended up costing me 7.5grand all up ;) but it was off a family friend so that helped a bit lol.

i do regret getting it though coz i started off with a wrx lol and well.....theres a huge difference between em. but since its your first car then go for a NA R33, still get the looks, comfort, etc ;)

best of luck with whatever you get ;)

u calling me an idiot?

so like you hit 20 and you fully know how to handle a turbo car. lol. ok. sure.

but then again... you are special :(

seriously, statistics show and prove every year, more teenagers lose control of high powered cars than any other age bracket.

if not having a turbo car cuts the death rate by 70%+ then there shouldnt be 18-20 yos driving turbos... simple.

I agree with freddy on the R33 GTS4 quite unique . Although extremely heavy and slow, not good for skids if you are bit of a terry. But otherwise should be able to find a n/a r33 for under $10K.

I think the GTS4's come with 5 stud hubs too, another benefit if you are looking for wheels.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
