Hey ppls.

For a little while now, I have been populating an XL Spreadsheet of Dyno Figures to compare my tunes and modifications.

I got the idea off Cubes, so I can't take credit for the idea itself.

BUT.

I'm going to open up my little spreadsheet to everyone to play with and add their numbers too.

Maybe we could even prepare a HUGE one to compate all sorts of fun and wonderful things.

Anywhoo.

Attached is my spreadsheet with graphing, and you could perhaps add to it, or cut and paste it, or add your own numbers too and have play.

top work bass but i think it should be plotted into mysql with a php site so it can be customised and comparison at the click of a button. that excel sheet will suck when 5 other people add their results. like the v8 one you found, that was tops. we need that

I have done a remake of the sheet. It will require the re-entering of the figures unfortunately, but I have made a couple of changes.

I have changed the speed scale from 3's to 2's.

More notably, I have set up the graph to display only 5 figures at a time. I have added a Rank function (row 2) so you just enter in the numbers 1 to 5 above the figures you want the graph to display, then press the "Sort by Rank" button. The figures will be sorted and the graph will display the results you wanted.

Or you can sort by Max power, I have added a Max Power row at the bottom of the table, you can sort to show the 5 most powerful cars on the graph.

Hopefully this will be a little more user-friendly and a bit easier to read. I can always change the graph to read more than 5 if need be, but having the graph limited to a specific number of records, rather than all of them being shown at once will keep things a bit tidier.

I hope this helps.

Needs to be RPM based not KPH

will be more accurate as kph, not rpm, as most people will only be guesstimating rpm. not many dyno sheets have rpm up the side to base it of, and if i go out on the road and say that i get 100kmh at 2850 rpm, that doesn't take into account both my speedo and tacho being out.

To save the hassle of re-entering all the figures, I made the changes to the original sheet.

The graph is now on a separate tab, and will display only the first 5 records. Enter the number 1 to 5 of the records you want to see, and press Sort by Rank to have those 5 appear on the graph. I added a Max power field, and a sort macro to sort by max power so show the top 5 most powerful cars.

Added RPM to the graph instead of speed. I used the formula to work out the RPM for the speeds we were using, rather than reworking the speed for a given RPM because that would require re-entering all the power figures.

  • 3 months later...

just curious, on the graph 102km/h is lined up with 3643rpm...on my dyno graph the rpm's dont line up with the graph 102km/h=3849rpm

what can be possible answers to this...as far as i know ratios are stock ( i havent changed them) would it be my rims? 19s?

just makin sure ay

cheers...ben.

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
