Not sure if this is any help, but there was some pics of a yellow R34 GT-T with GTR guards going round on the forum a little while back.

I think the guy was trying to pull a shonky deal by selling it off as a GTR, but it was definately a GT-T.

The thread itself isn't relevant, but the pics might be helpful to give you a better idea on apperance and fitment etc - might be worth doing a search (or perhaps someone else remembers who can help out?)

iv always used the boys at Queen St for any pannel work, i know they pump guards, and roll them etc.... and i have found them to be reasonable, for a job i wanted done parramatta smash repairs quoted $2000 and needed the car for 2weeks, Queen St did it for $170 and took 10mins.

Genuine R34 front guards are very light. I have picked one up with one finger. I think I know someone who has a pair. Might still have them, dunno.

But.. your bonnet and front bar wont fit up to GTR guards and I think there is some issue with the radiator support panel because the GTR one is a few cm higher than the GTT one. Cheapest option would have to be pumping the stockers.

Thanks, will give them a call soon!

Ruk; the fronts need to be flared to accomodate wider rims up front and to stop any scrubbing that happens when the car is dropped :action-smiley-069:

??????

my front and rear guards are rolled inside. We fit 20's (with 255/30 tyres) on and it was barely scraping on full wheel lock at the front. I think this is more of a GTR "lookalike" case?

Stan it all depends on how wide you go.

You can fit 20s by just rolling the guards as long as you get the right offset and dont go too wide.

What size rims are you thinking of getting ?

My new rims are 18x9 front and 18x10 rear and the fronts have no problem whatsoever, even when I lower it, it should be fine. The rears however are a different story, at the current ride height it is not touching at all, even with passengers in the rear. But the actual rim itself sticks out past the guards so I plan on getting them pumped when I respray the car in a few months time.

So id say determine your rim size and offset first and go from there, you may only need to do the rears.

As Adam said before, GTR front guards will be a hassle as you may have issues with the front bar etc and also the way the bonnet lines up. If thats the case you will not only need the GTR guards, but front bar and GTR bonnet. Unless you plan to go wider than 9 inches at the front than dont bother :action-smiley-069:

    • Hey keep the ideas coming, I'm always keen on projects! But, problem fixed!  I got a cheapie ozito scope from Bunnings and had a good look in and around the bearing and sensor hole. I couldn't see a smoking gun but the bearing looked a bit strange, especially when comparing with a new one. I thought the cover had come off the bearing magnets.  Sorry for pics of a screen, I didn't have an SD card.     Good thing I had the old one to inspect. So, given I'm like a pit crew with wheel bearings and luckily I had a spare bearing because I f**ked up my parts order, I decided to just smash it out. Got the old one out in about an hour. So much easier when the parts haven't had a chance to rust together yet. 😂 And, well, found the problem.    In the second pic at about the 8 o'clock position, you'll see what I think is the tip of the old sensor.  The new sensor has definitely been rubbing but it's all intact, just a little shiny so I'm hoping it's fine.  The car brakes perfectly now and no errors.  I think the job took about 2.5h in the end. 👍🏻 I really appreciate the help in here as usual. Thanks guys.
    • I was only looking because I saw some drops on the ground but it wasn't alot. Recently had it serviced will ask the mech to confirm. Find it strange that it looks standard though, can see in another photo of a random box
    • So...not sure if you know if that has always been there or why you went looking. It could be old damage from a clutch explosion, or even just the gearbox got dropped somewhere along the line. Basically, you should seal it up to stop oil and dust getting into the bellhousing, but it doesn't matter too much and is not structural. I'd suggest something like a glob of JB Weld. BTW what gearbox oil are you running, I would guess the breather has been spewing it everywhere.
    • Hey Duncan thanks for your reply. Sorry mate I know the photos are shit.  Took another photo for reference. Seems the casing does have a hole in it looking on the net, fluid seeping out. Added a photo
