hi guys,

just had a look and it says my VIN is:

6A91MPORTXHWL4001

Its a 2/99 GTSt R32

can u make any sense of that?

cheers

Nathan.

That should be your import/compliance plate. The VIN we are after should be on the left-hand side of that one, on a green plate. =-]

some pics...

Yep, like that plate Nathan.

From experience, if the plate has been remade and has funny letters like 1MPORT, the VIN never works.

As it is, I tried this VIN: HCR32 094224 and it doesn't work. It could be an Australian delivered R32, I dunno... but the VIN that is pressed onto the firewall (under the plate) looks odd too.. The leading "H" is not straight.

I really don't know why this is.

No good. Do you want to confirm the plate? BNR34 402974. It might not start with a "4".

Hi Randy,

The number I gave you is correct; both on the firewall as well as the plate. A puzzle?

Regards T

The URL for those images is "/.../2011 NUR/Matthew-5.jpg" - is it a NUR Spec car???

If so, were they re-numbered by the factory when they were rebuild from their first incarnation as a 'normal' GT-R?

You can tell that just by the colour of the build plate ;)

Nurs didn't get a special build, they followed the normal build sequence for 34s. Most people have the early edition of FAST which cuts off somewhere in late '01, meaning Nurs won't decode on them.

Could be! The number is quite high, so if your car was made after 2001, my CD's don't cover it. =-[

Yes, this. =-]

My discs are 2001.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
