hello there,

i was wondering what would be better, semi slicks / slicks on the standard r33 16" rim or on a pair of 17" x 8" wide.

just wondering because the rims are wider but the stockys would give more flex in the wall?

im talking about better grip to give better ET times...

:D THANKS YO!

man is thi for the track or the street?

but if its for the track , what i have learnt from all the boys that race is to get the least side wall possible to make it better for cornering so for a wheel say like all the gtr standard wheels are 17" 9" you run a 235 40 17 semi comp and this is said to be better then putting a 255 on the same rim.

but this is only info i got from the boys who race most weekends

just my two cents

if it is for the strip you'd be better off getting a set of 300zx wheels. they are wider than the r33 wheels, and will hold a wider tyre better. for the strip you want a bigger sidewall for traction, and run them at low pressure (around 16-18psi)

yeah thats what i thought BUT what i was asking is... is it better to have semi slicks on my 17" x 8", most likely thinner side wall (im guessing this would be better for track)

or

the standard skyline rim which i think are 16" x 6" with semi slicks with a thicker side wall (just to get alot of flex plus running low pressure...)

but the 17" are thicker... would that compensate or the 16" with the more flex in the side wall no comparison??? >_<

Semi-slicks are generally circuit tyres.

Drag Radials are for drag racing.

Both have a completely different built type, the semis have stiff sidewalls and the drag radials have very very soft sidewalls to give that flex for the traction.

Get a set of 300zx or 32 gtr rims and buy some M/T or BFG drag radials.

PM me if you are in Sydney and interested in 300zx rims with Nitto Drag Radials.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
