Just wondering if anyone had been today and if it was worth while?

I can't talk from experience of being there, but got a message from a mate that reckons some of the dyno runs were interesting. Some 200sx putting out over 400rwkw and an R34 about 288rwkw

I guess your friend didnt stick around to see the R34 (CRD's RH9) to go on to make 600+ atw :(. If all goes well for Sunday they're planning to run again this time with the giggle gas on.

edit: That 200SX (S15) would've been GT Autosounds drag car.

haha waited soooo long to see RH9 run on the dyno, but got bored after about 20mins of them farting around :\

trust me...as a expat South Aussie now residing in the ACT...this thing is the REAL thing ..you will not be

disappointed, he is going all out today...

Went an had a look today, didn't mind it i guess. Enjoyed having a look at the various small club displays & the couple of drift cars. Tend to appreciate them more as their driven/thrashed, compared to trailer queens.

Not really worth $18 tho i thought, bit steep but hey.

Hey sorry to say but i thought auto salon this year was shit ive been every year for 6 years and this year i didnt like the car quality was nothing compeared to last year and the year before what happend to donny,s s15 and all the other greats but everyone has different taste so yeah some may like it same may not.

Oh and that guy that drives LUSHES RX7 what a tool bag he is he has an attitude problem what a wanker.

i went 2day, was alrite, some nice cars, i rekon would make it better if they had more ppl around talking about the cars n stuff, cos like when i went 2 look at a car the guys would just stare at u like 'y u looking at my car for". saw some ncie dyno runs...yeh that 34 gtr from act was fkn crazy.

no1 mentioned the nice looking girls...i ran into ppl on several occations cos i was staring at the hotties..lol

ronny (owner of lushes) is actually a really nice guy, dunno what you guys are talking about though.

MYSHOW S15 was the roughest show car on the scene the car was hardly a "show car" IMO it was more of a slap together.

It's not a R34 it's a R32 with the R34 front

WTF are you smoking?

I saw an R33 with an R34 front? Was all by it's lonesome self. Would have cost abit however. Was a few nice cars there, didn't see too much on the dyno as 1) wasn't enough 'seeing' positions (put some proper stands up would have been a good idea), 2) took a little long to setup and switch

    • You Gregged a whole racetrack!?
    • Look for broken wire or bad connector at the motor. Might not be it, but is worth starting there, as it is easy.
    • Hi everyone, I’m having an issue with my R32 GT-R. Sometimes, when the car goes over a bump or experiences some vibration, the 4WD warning light comes on the dashboard. When I check the code from the control unit in the trunk, it shows Code 19 – ETS Motor. However, everything seems to be working fine — if I turn off the engine and restart the car, the light goes away and everything functions normally. Has anyone experienced this before? Where should I start troubleshooting this issue? Thanks in advance!
    • I'm back from the dyno - again! I went looking for someone who knew LS's and had a roller dyno, to see how it shaped up compared to everything else and confirm the powerband really is peaking where Mr Mamo says it should. TLDR: The dyno result I got this time definitely had the shape of how it feels on the road and finally 'makes sense'. Also we had a bit more time to play with timing on the dyno, it turns out the common practice in LS is to lower the timing around peak torque and restore it to max after. So given a car was on the dyno and mostly dialled in already, it was time for tweaking. Luis at APS is definitely knowledgable when it came to this and had overlays ready to go and was happy to share. If you map out your cylinder airmass you start seeing graphs that look a LOT like the engine's torque curve. The good thing also is if you map out your timing curve when you're avoiding knock... this curve very much looks like the inverse of the airmass curve. The result? Well it's another 10.7kw/14hp kw from where I drove it in at. Pretty much everywhere, too. As to how much this car actually makes in Hub Dyno numbers, American Dyno numbers, or Mainline dyno numbers, I say I don't know and it's gone up ~25kw since I started tinkering lol. It IS interesting how the shorter ratio gears I have aren't scaled right on this dyno - 6840RPM is 199KMH, not 175KMH. I have also seen other printouts here with cars with less mods at much higher "kmh" for their RPM due Commodores having 3.45's or longer (!) rear diff ratios maxing out 4th gear which is the 1:1 gear on the T56. Does this matter? No, not really. The real answer is go to the strip and see what it traps, but: I guess I should have gone last Sunday...
