Finally got all my parts in and took the car to the dyno and the results were less than I expected (although, isn't that always the case :(). I was under the assumption that the HKS GT2530s would spool much much faster than they did and I was expecting around 450 whp. Let me know what you guys think..

A/F ratios: started off weak but were spot on after moving around the fuel map and we peaked injector duty at only 74%.

Boost: we went up to 1.4 bar to play it safe on the GT2530s, and when it finally got to full boost, it held steady there moving around +/- .2 bar.

Power Mods:

2 x HKS GT2530 Turbos

2 x 300zx MAFs

Ogura Twin Plate Clutch

Greddy Front Mount Intercooler

Sard 722cc Fuel Injectors

Sard 276lph Fuel Pump

NGK Iridium Racing Spark Plugs

Apexi PowerFC Stand Alone Engine Management

Apexi PowerFC Boost Control Kit

Apexi PowerFC Commander

Greddy dual dump pipe /w decat

Apexi exhaust damper control

5Zigen Exhaust

Notes: Dyno sheet is in yankee hp not aussie :). It was done on a RWD dyno with AWD fuse pulled, no AWD ones around here. Normal pump fuel was used the whole time.

Not sure why it's showing the image as dead below, but it opens when you click it.

is there a graph with boost pressure against RPM? torque peak at 6500 seems to be like it's very laggy, guessing it doesn't hit full boost until after 5500.

Thanks for the replys guys..

CAMs and what is normal fuel over there. we use 98 or 100 RON over here.

The 91 I was using is spot on to your 99.

I don't have any sort or graph, but yeah full boost was very very slow. I'm thinking it's one of three things:

1) I have the PowerFC (PFC Boost Control Kit installed) set for 1.4 bar @ only 60% duty, should I bump up the % and lower the boost I'm asking for?

2) The actuators are way off on the turbos for whatever reason and just need to be tightened? I don't know if the gt2530 actuators can even be tightened..

3) Boost leak?

I really have no clue on this one, just throwing some ideas out there.

Thanks again guys.

they use 91 octane, there premium is around 94. Still far to laggy something must be wrong

Their octane ratiung however is calculated on RON+MON/2, whereas ours is just RON.

American 91 octane is basically equivilant to our 98 octane, and the 94 octane well surpasses out premium fuels.

Well something is definatly wrong.. I just did a 13.09 @ 105mph in the quarter mile, with a peak boost of 1.35 bar and everything appeared fine on my Apexi Commander.

So my only 2 thoughts on what could be wrong:

1) The actuators are way off on the turbos for whatever reason and just need to be tightened? I don't know if the gt2530 actuators can even be tightened..

2) Boost leak?

Any ideas?

we saw 404awkw (540awhp) on pump gas with a similar set-up and over 450awkw on race fuel...what total timing are you running?? with correct camshaft selection and tuning there is no reason why you shouldn't crack 350awkw (470awhp)

AFAIK Mustang Dyno's read pretty damn low?

The 1/4 mile dyno didn't lie though 13.09 @ 105 MPH

our car was the test car in HPI way back when it was bog stock and i think Ben Ellis managed to reel off back to back 12.9's

I'm on stock cams and cam gears. I know that will slow spool but it shouldn't be nearly this bad.

I had another GTR last year and pulled nearly the same time as this one..which has the hks 2530s.. this doesn't add up.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
