We spoke to AIR to see when the next drag meet would be and got told "not anytime soon" so as a consequence we have to go to Perth end of October to race.

Why not get John to come to Jamboree on the 23rd-24th of September at Willowbank?

It should be around 700km shorter than Perth trip.

Would love to see John running his blue beast up here.

I've been well, thanks Andy.

I've been really busy so I've not participate in as much motorsport up here yet. Secondly my s2k was still at K&A, until last weekend, so I've to be gentle on the r32 everyday as it's my only mode of transport up here. I can't wait to get the s2k up here so I can attend more track day with the r32. The facilities and the organisers' attitude up here are sensational.

How are things your end? How is your 4 door beast? BTW what is your fuel consumption with the the 4 doors? Is it worthwhile to get one as a daily drivearound? My gtr burns too much fuel :)

yeah mate things are good .... work is pretty busy and so is the social scene. Just got back from 10 days skiing in New Zealand, which was sensational.

The 34 is going very well, have now done a few mods including intercooler, Apexi power intake, cold air induction box, interior gauges, stereo, Apexi SAFCII (not yet tuned), HKS 3" exhaust, segregated front/dump pipe, Apexi exhaust control valve, etc, etc. Haven't had it on a dyno yet, but soon will install a Walbro 255lph fuel pump and Nismo fuel pressure regulator. When tuned I am told it should run a bit over 200rwkw. As it is currently it feels like it would be in the mid-to upper 100s, so is pretty quick already.

It is great as a daily driver, and I absolutely love the steering wheel tipronic mode - it will be very hard to ever go back to a manual! Fuel economy is bearable - I get around 375-400km from 55 litres - it generally runs about 7km/l - but this should improve a bit with tuning. Take care!

I'm very good friends with Bill Russo (City Dismantlers owner) Just came back on monday from a 10 day holiday with him and have been supplying him parts for 11 years. Had a chance to talk a lot about the track whilst away. Final statements will be given in court by each party next week on the 25th. He feels confident he will win as he said Rodney Jane made a couple of key mistakes while on the stand. Only time will tell as the judge still has the final say. Bill did tell me however that if he looses he will be launching an appeal, so he is very keen to get it and said he will invest 2 mil right away to get it up to scratch. I have never heard anything about plans for the track to be ripped up and redirected.

yeah thanks for the update Terry ..... please keep us in the loop if you hear any more info. A group of us are getting so desperate to race that we are seriously considering driving to the Eastern states for a meet .... and while that is a cool idea in theory, it is not a good option in case something breaks while over there and the car gets stuck there - not to mention cop problems, speeding fines etc etc :)

Sat in the Supreme Court today with Bill Russo for 4 hours today listening to the closing statements, nearly fell asleep a few times. I soon woke up when Bill told me how much it was costing him per day to have two QC's on the case.

Basically the hearings are finnished and Judgement will be handed down at a date to be announced. The Judge has a hell of a lot of papers and notes to go thru and nobody has any idea when a decision will be made. I was really surprised at how much paperwork both sides accumulated during the trial. After hearing what I heard I still think it can go either way. Hopefull for S.A it will go in Bills favour. "keeping my fingers crossed"

    • I wasn’t able to replicate the sound anymore. It was a one time sound so maybe it was just coincidence but it was like small pebbles being dropped in a coke can.   should I try cleaning the MAF? It could be it’s functioning but dirty? I don’t know.
    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
