My brother recently had some work done to his car by a Sydney service provider. Following the retailer damaging my brother's car, the situation turned very ugly and the disgusting behaviour exhibited by staff members was absolutely inexcuseable.

Staff members verbally and physically assaulted my brother when he did not accept their 'make good' offer following the damage to his vehicle. A large group of staff congregated and the whole lot began to scream, shout and intimidate whilst he stood there by his lonesome, until he accepted the offer under duress. Way to win customers. Way to act like human beings. Way to obey the law.

To avoid any claims of libel, I shall only say that the retailer sells wheels and tyres and is based at Tempe. If you send me a pm I shall reply with the business name.

pffft i know who your on about and i understand why your furious...

they did the same to my brothers mates car but when push come to shove my brovs mates were too big for them to do anything lol so they paid up and a bit extra for reasons im sure we all know why...

They are just out for $$$$ not interested in what car or damage they do whilst making a few grand...

Tell your brother to take it further Im sure Office Fair Trading already know who your talking about..

Hope all goes well an keep us posted..

Good Luck..

Yeah I know Id never go there...

Ozzy Tyres at St Marys are so cool they are heaps nice too, they did a mates car I was with him an they took care the whole time we were there not just on his car but all of them..

yeah ive got my tyres there once.. i askt one of the guys there if the falken range (ziex 326 lol) was a good performance tyre.. and all he could say was "yes theyre a jap brand so of course"

they obviously dont know much bout theyre product and are deffinently in for a quick buck.. and yeah theyre heaps rude.. havnt gone back since

Wow, I had no idea the rep of this place was so poor.

The damage was relatively minor. It was a good scrape to the front right guard and headlight assembly. It'd be paint the panel and blend the door and bonnet.

It isn't the damage that was the problem, accidents happen. It was the shouting and obscene jeering from a large group of employees when my brother (who was there by himself - his wife and kids out shopping) wanted to consult his own panel beater before accepting the make good offer.

The senior employee working at the time was the one leading the group and it resulted in spitting, if that puts things into perspective. Being by yourself, you'd have to be bigger and meaner than Vin Diesel to have a leg to stand on.

Anyway, the thread was for me to share some appalling behavour by a business I thought SAUers used. Evidently, everyone here is already smarter and steer well clear...

I'm going to have to disagree this time; I've been to the aforementioned place on a few seperate occasions now and have received nothing but great service; the boss came out to greet us; offered us all different combinations of tyres etc and went as low as he could on the pricing.

Staff were a bit roudy; but hey you'd be too if you worked there every day. In light of this; they still had the courtesy to package up my old rims and make sure it didn't damage/dirty anything when placed back in my car.

I guess it's different for everyone; but that's just my 2c

I went back there with a warranty claim. Not a retailers warranty claim, but a MANUFACTURERS warranty claim - so all they had to do was accept the rims and mail them to the manufacturer for them to be repaired/replaced. All i got was 4 guys telling me im lazy and its my fault the chrome is peeling. Then they tried to blame it on the brake dust being hot. So when i mentioned that if that were true, every set of rims they've ever sold that was chrome should be peeling, they told me to leave.

So much for a warranty, even if it wouldnt cost them (as the manufacturer picks up the tab), they still wouldnt do it.

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
