sounds like from snowy's report that a 10.something is certainly attainable for it. 10.04 maybe not, but it's not really the point. it's not a drag car. just a very capable, and desirable road car.

hmmm... was this a GTR that was sent back to Nismo to get all the Z-Tune parts put on, then the car was sent back out?

because i've heard there is one of the 20-22 here, but it's never been tracked. Meaning, there are 2 Z-Tunes. Both in melbourne, 1 is one of the original Nismo factory made ones, 1 is a fully kitted out one...

I have no idea who you are talking to but they are feading you some inacurate info. there were only 20 Nismo GTR Z-tune made. They were made to commemerate nismo's 20th anniversary, not their 22nd aniversary, or their 23rd. 20th. and as such 20 is it. no more, no less.

There is only 1 in Australia. Made by nismo just like the other 19 were. a nissan GTR with a body kit is not 'a fully kitted out Z-tune'. If it doesn't have a plaque on it that says Nismo GTR Z-tune XX/20 then it's not a Z-tune. pretty simple.

Yeh Giants car is a little lighter then most R32s (i think) and has the close ratio box and is makign more power then the Z-Tune. With 320swkws i woul dbe very surprised if it ran a lot 10. Perhaps a 10.99999 :(

Unless of course the thing has another 9psi they can wind into it and make a lot more power

beer baron, i said 20-22 because i couldn't remember exactly.

There is nothing stopping you from "making" a Mines GTR, and the same for a Z-Tune, you can make one from your existing GTR. And, as far as i knew, this was the ONLY way to bring one out to australia.

Get a normal GTR here, compliance. Ship back to japan. Get Nismo treatment. Bring back to australia.

This, technically, is NOT one of the 20 built.

Granted the guy who told me that his clients car, that's a Z-Tune, which is not tracked, doesn't know a lot about jap imports. Owner's name was 'John'.

i dunno... just something i heard. Because if the only way to bring one here, is to do the whole back and forth thing.. then we still don't have one of the ORIGINAL 20?? i could be getting confused somewhere along the line though...

I hear what you are saying...and you could build your own Mines R34 but you cant build a Z-Tune. Nismo have the car and owner details of each car and if you are trying to buy parts then you have to own one of the 20 cars to get parts. So unless you go and guess the turbo specs, make the panels, get Brembo to do a special run of the calipers for you, copy all the coolers and installation etc, forge the build plate etc etc then you may be able to have a look a like. But since Nismo wont sell you any of the parts you cant build one

right o. I was mistaken then. I thought Nismo were building them from scratch, as oppose to sourcing mint condition, 2nd hand ones.

well, off to tell my car detailer he's quite wrong  sorry for the confusion

well, apparently this owner also has about 10 other AMAZING cars. ferrari's, 2 x GT3's... etc... got good tastes :miner:

Im in japan at the moment and we happened to pass the omori factory and had to pay a visit of course...

We walked into the garage entrance and first we saw an nismo r32 gtr s tune, next to which was an r33 gtr 400R, next to which was an r34 gtr ztune. We got to sit in it! Under the bonnet was the plate which showed it as being no. 1 of 20. This car by far is my dream car but its pretty much impossible to aquire even if I was loaded, but to see it and sit in it was an awesome experience and the keys were sitting in the ignition too :( haha, but they wouldnt start it!

They couldn't build them from scratch as there was no more R34's being produced

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
