The front end reminds me of the Audi TT. Except someone very fat has sat on it and squished the headlights out of shape.

Flat bottomed steering wheel reminds me of Audi TT also.

More similarities. Both have 2 litre turbo engines. Both have all wheel drive. Both have weight saving aluminium components. Both have histories forged in the battlefields of the world's toughest rally circuits. And both will turn heads everywhere they go.

There is a difference though. The Audi TT looks like a supermodel, whereas the Evo X looks like skanky trailer trash ho. But while the supermodel might be good at impressing crowds with a slow, stylish walk, I think it's the skank who holds the depth of talant here. Life in the dirt has given the skank skills the supermodel will never know.

Given the choice though, I just couldn't pass up a night with a supermodel, no matter how talanted the skank is.

nice comparison RIZZA...never though there were looking at audi that much.........

found a bit more info on the new evo...aperently gone is the current 2 liter donk....that was there in many incarnations starting with i think the VR4...right up to evo9... have a look,,,

http://www.autocarmag.com/News_Article.asp?NA_ID=217168

just out of interest, found this next car...suppose to be a new VW model...have they taken hints from audi or mitsubishi

FRONT view anyway.......

:D

http://www.autocar.co.uk/news_article.asp?na_id=222019

although it actually does share the plat form with audi...

IMHO No way is that going to be the new Evo...

Looks all wrong, with no real carry-over from the previous models.

And it says concept on the rear, so its probably just a concept car.

And you would think that they would have release the newest Evo in Japan before showing at some skank-arse Mod show in wherever the hell the photos are taken, looks like downtown LA.

looks like a mazda 6 with headlights that are a cross between s15 and vy hsv lights, a ferrari enzo crossed with a shark nose and an interior from what the people in 1950 thought the cars from the year 2000 would have.

SUPER MEGA FUGLY!...I can already hear MAZDA screaming out to me!!

lol thats the concept x

the pics are real as this cars been to many motorshows around the world over the past 6 months

that isnt the evo x as far as ive read, but the evo x will b based on that chassis

"Sharing the new Mitsubishi Lancer platform with the new Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass, the Evo X will get a new 2.0-liter mill, an improved AWD system and six-speed clutchless tranny with paddles"

http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/mitsubishi/sp...vo-x-148806.php

and...

taken from autosalon magazine:

"The next incarnation or Mitsubishi's Lancer platform will be released as a base model spec first, in late 2007. Wearing 2008 spec plates, the Lancer will share the base platform with the Dodge Caliber and Jeep Compass.

The next Evo should be a six speed clutchless manual, and the new version of the awesome 4G63 may even pass the magic 300 horsepower mark. Cementing the Evo at the top of the small car performance charts."

You know i like the skylines, and supra's and most other sports cars but to me Just in my opinion I always feel like Mistu cars are made cheaply. Maybe not the car but the interior. Seems like they are cheap looking plastic and for what you pay for I feel its very similar to a daewoo or kia interior.

just my 2 pennies

i would say there very underrated, mums magna is a great car nothing fallen off or anything although the fact that its fwd makes it a bitch to turn at low speeds. not much wheel lock, long wheelbase, nose heavy, etc.

although when dad got his commodore he said it handled better than his astra... see what happends when theres no drive in the front wheels, even a long wheelbase can handle better than a small astra.

i want an evo 8 fq400 (aka f**king quick 400hp) from the uk... just over 300kw mmmmmmmm

or get a normal evo 8, convert to rwd, put an rb26dett in and mod it up. well they can fit a vh41de in a 3 series e36 beemer and make it a front midship.

ralliart evo 9 was comfortable as hell when i sat in the one at perth motor show 06. it seats were really buckety yet still comfy and recaro (have to do something about the leather tho - eww). my point is its perfect for my height/size. had to put the seat back a bit but yeah. everything like guages etc was in good view too.

>_<

bar 1 model, all mitsubushi's are the shittest looking cars on the planet... they look cheap inside and out, and its embarrasing to even be seen standing near one

who gives a crap, this site should be skylines only

Agree to dis-agree.

Does any-one know how narrow this thing is?

It looks like two Aussie blokes would not be able to fit in the front

The new width restrictions on new cars in Japan only means 1 thing.

We are goin to look like we are on a budget....so narrow....blah :P:/

The cars are going to look like push bikes.

We are doomed....need to look to other countries to import there 2nd hand turbo charged cars.

:dry::)

    • Fark what are the changes of that snapping like that, clean. Nek minnit, custom radiator goes in, with built in oil cooler like those discontinued PWR ones from yesterdeacades ago
    • I thought I'd do a write up on an auto transmission fluid change for a the nissan 7 speed Automatic. At some stage the genius engineers decided that the fluid in the trans was "for the life of the transmission", (which seems kind of self supporting to me) and removed the dip stick and fill tube (funnily enough there is still a casting for it). Anyway, for this job you do need 2 specialist tools in addition to regular hand tools, jack and good chassis stands. You need a way to pump fluid up to the transmission; I got one of these but there are plenty of other options: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364584087070 Don't trust the generic listing though, it does not come with the required adapter for the Nissan 7 Speed. You need one of these, can't do the job without it: https://navarapart.com.au/product/genuine-nissan-patrol-y62-d23-np300-navara-re7-dipstick-fill-connector1 You need a heap of compatible transmission oil. Could be Nissan, could be anything else rated for Nissan Matic S. You need at least 10 litres, I had 15 to give it a better flush... Also, you need some biiig oil catch trays, at least one of these, or bigger if possible (volume was fine, size was very marginal): https://autobarn.com.au/ab/Autobarn-Category/Tools-%26-Garage/Specialty-Tools/Oil-Service/Garage-Tough-Oil-Drain-Pan-Black-16L---GT1068/p/TO03191 Finally, a measuring jug is very useful if your pump does not have volumes marked on it, I got a 6l one: https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/measuring-jugs/penrite-measuring-jug-6l-pmj006/p/A5322648 Oh, and gloves.....this stuff is horrible (not as bad as diff oil, but getting there) ....First, jack up your car.....
    • So I mentioned the apprentice, @LachyK helped take the bonnet off. We just undid the nuts on the hinges and unclipped the gas struts, then pulled the bonnet back a little as the front was catching on the front bar.  I had a good look at everything today and have removed the rams, repaired/reset the hinges and bolted it back together like it never happened. I'll do a separate write up on the repair, and I also removed the poppers from the Fuga today too to save grief down the road.....as said above it is at least $5k to repair retail. I'm also happier about my ability to prepare a race car, and less happy about Nis-nault's engineering (I can hear @GTSBoy sAfrican Americaning) because the top hose of the radiator didn't slip off.......it snapped clean off. By practice I put the hose clamp hard up against the flare on a neck to make it least likely to ever move (thanks @Neil!). I guess that puts a little more pressure on the end of the pipe as it is further away from the rad, but still, that is pretty shit. I've put it back on for now as there was a fair bit of neck still there, but obviously there is no lip on the neck any more so I don't think I'll track it again until I have a new rad. Speaking of which....more research required. It looks like Koyo makes a standard size radiator in ally which I'll grab in the meantime, but I really want something thicker so might have to go custom in the medium term (ouch) Coolant still needs a refill and I have the pressure tester on it over night, but other than a wash down of the engine bay it seems alright. And @MBS206 noted something noisy on the front of the engine and I think I agree....time for a new accessory belt and tensioners I think.
    • our good friends at nismo make a diff for it, I have one (and a spare housing to put the centre in) on the way. https://www.nismo.co.jp/products/web_catalogue/lsd/mechanical_lsd_v37.html AMS also make a helical one, but I prefer mechanical for track use in 2wd (I do run a quaife in the front, but not rear of the R32)
