i was told to NEVER use plastic piping when making an intake because if it heats up too much all the bad fumes from the plastic go straight into the engine

Beats me how plastic would heat up enough to melt as an intake, especially with air flowing through it all the time.

Where they're talking about placing the piping is down the front of the car, away from pretty much most of the heat

If you were really worried, could always wrap it in thermal tape or something to the same effect.

what do u think most cars intake pipes are made of? plastic of course, it doesnt melt man, it will only melt if ur car explodes. the fumes ? errr cant say ive heard that b4, if ur making it out of nylon or sumthing then i would reconsider

I bought a Pipercross ram pod for my car and ripped out the standard box. This pod is a beast u can really hear it suck the air in as it sounds like a 2 inch exhaust. I have noticed greater throttle responce, increased hp at the wheels and lotts of people looking 2 see what that sound is. Does anyone else have this type of ram pod? I picked it up for $220 with a cleaning kit and install for free.
