Your answer - HKS F-CON V Pro (version 3.24 + only)

Now before the critics jump up n down waving their arms around; yes it is a piggyback  But, it's better than a PFC, it works on the auto on Nissans and is one of the most popular ECU systems in Japan.

paying for the guy to come out and tune sounds really expensive

i live in Far north QLD and that in itself would be an expensive trip

let alone dyno hire costs etc

I have an r34 auto and im slowly narrowing down my options

but it seems my best bet is a dr drift tune if/when he comes up here

another option is the greddy emanage piggyback system but no one up here can tell me if it will work with the tiptronic auto (does it ???)

I should have bought a manual

Greddy Emanage does work; talk to 666Dan about it I think... there is a bit of DIY stuff you have to do to make it work though, something to do with the resistors?

Hopefulyl one day the HKS ECUs will become more tunable and let people from other states reap the same benefits.

I can wait - I'll just grab yours when you're finished with it Stan :P

Useless in SA, can only be tuned by an auithorised HKS Tuning Shop using the HKS supplied dongle and software. Which HKS charges an arm and a leg for.

:( cheers :(

was tongue in cheek - anyway, Im sure Stan would love to pay for the 1st tune as part of the "deal"

lol, quite happy with the safc/sitc combo, cheers

:laugh::( :sorcerer:

According to some "rumors" which I'm yet to justify, there are other tuners out there for HKS ECUs... whether or not this is true I don't know.

SK; why you always shuttin me down for :( LOL it's all good... as you said, friendly discussions never hurt anyone :)

how do you adjust the air/fuel ratio with an safc when the factory ecu just keeps correting it via the o2 sensor?

The standard (slow and narrow) lambda sensor only works for constant throttle cruise and idle (generally called closed loop running). At ANY other loads (that's the other 99.9% of the time) the mapping has full control of the A/F ratios (open loop running).

:ninja: cheers

I dont think it is as easy as that..... What is the throttle position? What is the AFR? How much load is it under?

When I had my safc tuned in my r33 it took them a good hour, and 4 or 5 dyno runs to get it perfect, and it bloody did well, gained 28rwkw and ~300kms EXTRA out of a full tank of petrol, was VERY happy!!

    • If you are Ecutek tuned then these TCU tunes are anywhere from $550 to $700 usd. If you are not ECUTEK tuned, then it gets costly!
    • Sorry to hear your HFM BM57 was faulty,  did you contact HFM I would hope they would be at least grateful for the information if there was some sort of manufacturing fault, you would hope they would be sympathetic even if your item was 2 years old if it had never been fitted. May I ask where it leaked from ?
    • Cats are called Bella, and Donna...  Like that poisonous plant And I remember your 2 monsters, I remember making a little bit of wee when you let them out... LOL I have already installed cat doors into the laundry where their kitty litter is, and the sun room, apart from the cat doors there's not going to be any permanent mounted stuff on the interior walls (interior doors are cheap and easy to replace) I will get a outdoor cat cage thingie once I finish the landscaping out back... https://catnip.com.au/ The only off limit areas are the main bedroom and the gym room....but, currently the cats are curled up in bed, in the main bedroom with the Mrs.....LOL, the off limits for the kittens to the main bedroom lasted about 5 minutes with Jackie I currently only have 1 free standing huge cat tree multiple level scratching post thingie in the lounge room, but, I will be getting another one soon now that I'm happy with the furniture layout in the back room and have a perfect spot for it
    • All of this is making it seem clear that running the Coppermix twin was definitely the way to go, especially in hindsight with how insane tariffs have gotten and the strength of the USD vs yen at the time.
    • That sounds like no chance of even importing one for road registering then Now I see why Duncan wants to check LHD rules for Targa...   I wonder how "bolt in" the AWD would be if you got one imported from the US and swapped it to an AUD one
