hi all

just wondering what is needed internally to build a rb20det to produce over 300rwkws?

are there any little tricks of the trade to building a solid rb?

what oil and water pump should i run?

what brand pistons,rods,bearings,bots are recommended?

whats the max lift cams i can run with the standard valve springs?

i have the turbo, injectors, exh mani, gate, pump and pump already.

Please read the Forced Induction Guide.

Is has a link to a thread about 260rwkw+ for the RB20.

Its over 6-7 pages in length so its possible some of the information is in that thread.

Personally, i think you are wasting your money :)

don't be so harsh on the RB20 Ash, you know it's got the minerals to keep other engines honest ;-)

You know the RB20/300rwkw is well above a 5000rpm adventure.

Probably...but if you have pistons, clean up the top end with some baby cams and some tweaking of inlet/outlet and chamber...nothing dramatic as ti not lose bottom end. The make sure you havbe oil pressure and temp well under control...then 1.5bar up a GT30R will net you close to 300rwkwsand still be pretty driveable

eh not quite man, i pulled 288rwkw on 17psi...and this was on a motor with poor compression.

its possible to do but there may be cheaper ways to go about this.

if you are interested in 'beasting' up the old rb20 take a look at my rebuild thread...ive done everything but rods in the motor.

A GT30 you'll be running ~25psi for 300rwkw

Thats a LOT of boost for not a large amount of power and even running a ball bearing its gonna be very harsh

Remember i ran 270 @ 17psi....

hey mate

if you wanna know how to build a tough rb20 pm dan ( 3lit3_32 )

his rb20 was good for almost 270rwkw (if not more) with a stock head.

he has almost finished mine which is almost identical to his but with head work done.

he would be more than happy to point you in the right direction

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
