Hi Guys,

I have put the final running list up on the site:

http://www.timeattack.com.au/coming_trackday.php

I'll be at the MacDonalds Jindalee also, but at around 6am. lol

Getting all the final details together. Looks set to be a big day !!

See you all there.

Paul

So all it costs to enter is $20 a session? So you can participate for $40 for both events.

Or is there another price for the full day. Sorry if I am blind and have missed it!

Edited by zaffa

Yea you have missed it. lol.

The $20 is for the 'Shoot Out' event only. It is an extra event for those already doing the track day proper which is $120 for a half day.

Plus the event is fully booked out.

We are on the final count down now !!

Sorry sometimes I think my eyes are painted on! lol

Shall be interested in this when I get my license back, as it sounds quite good! Have you got dates set for next years track days. The time attack website doesnt seem to be working for me?

Thanks

If anyone else is interested meeting up to cruise out to the track, it at the Caltex opposite the Mazda and Subaru car yards near the bus depot at Toowong.

7am departure.

Come out with us Mr gilly or is that to late for you.

We are only spectators, but i spose if your racing you will have to leave earlier.

where the hell is jindalee? lol

Do you remember Amazons water park near there, take the exit just as you go over the bridge on the centenary Hwy. Maccas is up around the corner.

Bring some spare engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid & coolant...

Dont forget to bring a hand full of spanners and a few screwdrivers, althought ive never needed my tools at the track I never run the risk, just incase something does happen... Dont forget to bring food and drinks and your camera also...

Wow i wasnt expecting that reply. If something caused me to loose my engine oil, brake fluid, power steering fluid or coolant i think im gonna need a lil more than just a handful of spanners and a few screwdrivers lol. I guess its not a bad idea tho incase a clamp comes loose and needs to be tightened. My car is only lightly modified but i think my air/fuel ratio is like 10.5:1 at high revs so yeah it drinks. Plus the new fuel pump needs more fuel in the tank than stock so i'll take plenty of fuel just incase. Thanks for all your help leading upto 2morrow guys. Cant wait to meet u all out there!!

Yeah I always take a few spare fluids... You never know when you will need them...

Better to have them there and not use them, then to not have them and need them...

If you need a few spanners tho Ill be there, evryone know my car...

Was a great day, it was good to finally meet you guys.

I will definately catch up with you all at one of the Tuesday night dinners.

How nice was that GT2 porsche.

P.S. See you all on Sunday for the cruise..

Wholy crap, what a crazy day. I'm so exhuasted lol Thanks to all the event organisers. I learnt so much more today than i thought i would. For example driving on the track in street tyres is a bad idea, understeering through fast corners and over steering through slow corners doesnt do much for my time. It was however alot of fun counter steering at 160k's! I admit i was the slowest in the arvo session but from what i could see i was by a long shot the youngest. I'll get there one day, once i join the evo population haha

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
