I might be asking a dumb question but is that for heavy auto cars or everyone?? :(

hhmmmm.....

i dont know for sure how much the Stagea weighs, (Terminal will know), but i reckon it'd weigh around 1600kg.... like i said, thats just a guess :) . my brothers JZA70 Supra weighs around 1600kg and thats a manual, buts its also factory widebody :worship:

but generally speaking, 15-1600kg is a heavy car. (from my point of view anyway...)

good guess, 1660kg when i weighed it last. that didn't include the additional items i've installed. i'll probably only have 1 or 2 runs, i just want to know how it feels before i put my hi-flo in.

i'll take it for another run when the manual is in, then another run once the powerfc is in and tuned.

Put your seat more back

Well its slid back as far as it goes and for me to fit the helmet in im that far back i look like im trying really hard to be cool :D.

What seat should i get that will really put me in it....like almost be sitting on the floor???

Brand/price etc??

Considering going depending on tax but can I get a idiots guide to their first track day? So far to get on my list is 2x20L jerry cans, anything else?

I see myself going to the track a fair bit in the future is it worth investing in a helmet and anything else?

Would an R33 GTR seat help me? Does anyone know how much lower that would be then a GTS-T?

EDIT: What about replica recaro seats...are they dodgy or decent enough for replicas???

So can anyone help me with what I need?

yea i wouldnt mind a what to take list as well... so far i have

- Required clothes eg jeans + long sleeve shirt + helmet

- Major service just done so everything should be ship shape

- Double & then triple checking brake fluid, pads and disc condition

- Will be organising a 5 or 10L jerry can to put some extra Petrol in.

Questions:

- I have heard you should put an extra 300 - 500ml of oil in if doing a track day can anyone confirm this if so i might bring along a bit of oil

- I discussed this with Jayce and Luke tonight but others opinions are welcome too :ermm: what would be a safe boost to run around the track with i was think 8 - 9psi some say more is fine but i would rather air on the side of caution if anything.

I've run around the track no problems.

Just bring what Wakefield tell you too and make sure your car is in good nick. Also, as Luke said, don't keep the car going hard for too long or shite will break. Take rest breaks for the car. Brake pads are probably what I keep an eye out for the most. As for petrol, if you'll be running the whole day then maybe take some extra, but you can always just drive back to Goulbourn (5-10 minutes) and fill up at the BP/Shell there. I personally have driven to Wakefield, done an afternoon of laps and driven back on one tank.

Just keep in mind that you drive to your limits, don't worry about faster people on the track as they will overtake you on the straights, just move to the side and ease off a bit to let them pass. I've seen one guy drive beyond his limits and he put his SS Ute into the wall (freak occurance but still....).

It is immensly fun however, so go and have fun!!

Leigh, I ran around the track at 14.7psi and had no problems, this however was during the colder months so keep in mind temps will be higher.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
