Hi All,

Just wondering if someone could clarify what a tapper cover is?

Are they the covers that sit next to the valley cover (the cover that covers the coil packs and spark plugs)?

The reason why i ask is that it seems to be leaking a bit of oil there and i think i need gaskets/seals. Anyone know where i can buy some?

thanks.

yeah, it's called rocker covers/cam covers. I dont think they actually use a seal. there may be a rubber o-ring there, but they are probably just sealed using liquid gasket. you can get the good stuff from nissan.

of couse they use a seal

its a rubber seal that sits in the grooved section of the rocker cover

for best results, use in combination with permatex number 1 and you will have no leaks... also check how tight the screws are continually, as they work themselves free from vibration

Hi All,

Its a good chance that i'll need replacement seals however i did go to tighten the bolts and every single one of them needed to be turned 2-3 times each before they went tight.

I dont know if this was the cause or whether it was because the washers have worn away, thus reason why i was able to turn the bolts a couple of times before it was tighten.
