there isnt anything stopping you guys from brain storming or even planning one! Made this thread to spark the idea of meets to be planned by any members of the forum.

If anyone has an idea post up! Doesnt have to be planned. Just state a designated time/date at the local carwash/shops/etc and get the ball rolling from there.

No little meets?

We have at least 3 meets every week happening come along. We hardly get people with skylines.

There is the NS west meet which is awesome, a good bunch of people, always a king turnout and generally no idiots.

Then there is the NS East meets, which are shit I would understand why you wouldnt go.

Im about to organise a weeknight South meet which will be good.

Then on fridays theres usually a whole lot of us that go out cruising as well.

And other crap random cruises all the time.

I'm down for meeting some local skyline people... I'm in croydon. Like someone mentioned, cant beat a nice summer day cruising with nice cars to the beach etc..

thank you!!!

i'm sure theres more people wanting to cruise so organisers get crackin' :)

:ninja:

thats the problem... everyone one is pretty much in the southeast.. or the east.. maybe a few in the west. But NEVER anyone where I live... (north east)...

how far out north east we'd try hav a central meetin place 2 accomodate every1 seems we got a fair few interested ppl

hey man how about 2meets one for the northern/western people and one for the sout/eastern people then we all meet at one central point n go from there??

cnr North Rd and Poath Rd - North Oakleigh

MELWAY 77 H5

When: This Friday 3rd November @ 8.30pm

LOL dats seems like the way 2 do it

Hey, just something to raise an issue about.

What ive noticed is that victoria seems to be lacking small local meets. The big events are nice but some small meetup's should be organised around suburbs.

Ive been tagging along with my friend in his ozhonda club and they manage to have local meets nearly every week.

Some they have had are; late night carwashes, residential photoshoots (most shopping centres are happy for photoshoots ie. waverly gardens and monash uni) and just got back from a small meet/dinner at pancake palour at Glen Waverly

From my short time in the vic member section, sauvic seems to focus more around the large/major meets and it seems to lack the localness to it.

Im only saying this as i can only seem to find Westies and no east members floating around the board :D

Maybe once uni holidays start more local events may pop up, if not, i guess ill have to organise some.

Btw im located in Ferntree Gully area, so if any other vic member is around and interested in some form of meet up, post here so we can get the ball rolling :D

Mate I agree 100%, since the Vic club was setup it seems no one in the open section can be arsed organising mini meets. I used to enjoy these, when I fisrt signed up here there always seemed to be somthing happening. You don't need any type of qualification, insurance or degree to orgainse these. You don't need SAU Vic approval either. Just make a meet and post it, simple as that  C'mon guys, how bout it?

thats the problem... everyone one is pretty much in the southeast.. or the east.. maybe a few in the west. But NEVER anyone where I live... (north east)...

Prepare to eat your words... im in Viewbank.. North East FTW!

I saw 2 R33 GTR's at Moskitos last night.. one with P plates.. WTF!>?

plan sometthing the next week......since exams are officially over....im sure everyone can relax?

maybe we should get everyone to post if they are interested and write down where u live so we can pick a good meeting spot...and a nice cruising line...

i guess ill start it off

endeavour hills/narre warren

South east subs

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
