Hi all,

I have an R33 S1 that I absolutely love... I have rebuilt the engine, etc so I don't want to get rid of it but I really love the look of the R333 S2 front!

My question is... How hard or easy is it to convert the fron part of my body to the S2 front?

I just love the S2 front, it's shaper and more defined..

I'd love the bonnet, front bar, etc...

Anybody know any info about doing this?

saw this done to a s1 on the weekend. all they had changed was the front bar.

Thanks but I want to do the complete front... I want the bonnet and I have a feeling that other parts have to be replaced to do this...

  • 2 weeks later...

they are sharper on the midle part of the headlights next to the grill. I dont think there is any differance on the part that goes into the guard.

have not tested but just going by looks

why would you wanna make your s1 look like an s2 ?

why ?????

have you noticed the R33 gtr's all kept the s1 front end? it's bettererer IMO.

also what ctjet said, if youre going to all the trouble, why have it look stock. go with something different.

k, i'll shut up now.

Said he who drives around with an SII wing.... :D:(

the wing was on the car when i got it.

but i was talking about the relatively expensive and dramatic conversion to S2 front end. why bother?

So true.. i reckon Standard S2 looks like a magna :(

Might aswell spend your money on a different look, eg bodykit.

my mate got a set of aftermarket s2 headlights for his s1. the guards line up, the there is a space between the lights and the bonnet, and also between the lights and the front guard.

so you will need the bonnet, front bar and reo. and lights to do the conversion.

im pretty sure they're all a straight swap.

    • Sadly we have something in common, our Skyline's like blowing up electrically 😢
    • So, no videos, but, the FAB9 Elite manifold and 68mm Bosch throttle bodies are in stock, but, not the rear part of the air box The FAB9 rear airbox thingie is made with a 3" intake pipe, to suit the 3" intake pipe size of a 68mm throttle body  When they get some more in stock is currently unknown as I'm waiting for FAB9 to reply with a ETA on resupply, my assumption is they outsource their plastic printing stuff to "china", and with the current "tariff war" going on in 'Merica it could be on hold for an undisclosed time Should I pull the pin on the Intake and throttle body, and wait for the airbox?????, that's what I'm thinking... 1. Would the standard 2.75" OEM intake on the air box really be that much of a restriction compared to the 3" naturally aspirated?????? 2. If I don't get the 3" FAB9 airbox fitted at the same time as the intake and throttle body will it need a retune, when/if it eventually turns up?????? As I'm impulsive, to a fault, decisions will be made within....."what's the time now"???....let's say 12 hours......LOL
    • yeah its just so expensive nowadays and its easy to lose motivation very quickly when you start adding up the costs. I acquired the car from a collector in Melbourne and was lucky to get the opportunity to buy something already completed.  I looked at a proper resto and your paying over 300-400K for a proper one (nut and bolt) so this one to me seemed like a much better option! Car is in private storage and for serious buyers, welcome to come see it/drive it in person (photos don't do it justice).
    • nice to see a proper resto, instead of the usual half arsed attempts where the owners wont even replace crappy floor mats
    • Aw man, I was in Belgium earlier this month in Brussels and Bruges. Would've been awesome to see a Skyline all the way over there! I did load up on Tintin merch though  Welcome!
