Just wondering what colour I should repaint my car, paint is "great" for a 16yo car :) . I was thinking of a red with the engine covers to be painted at the same time in the same colour with a blackened engine bay. What do you guys reckon? The wheels will most likely stay white and will be getting a new front bumper probably jr style 1.

have you spoken to your insurance company to see if this will affect your premium? i'd stick with a factory colour (even if it isn't nissan). that way if you are ever in a crash it is much easier to get the paint matched.

For gettin the paint matched no problems there i work at a panel shop so i can have whatewver colour i chose to paint it, but im not in for a extreme paint like on a red just a metallic red not candy red. I dont mind blue or green to. Im just asking people what coloue would look good or keep to white and just give a new coat

If I were you mate, I'd remove the rear wing, leaving the rest of the kit on and paint it all a metallic silver, like the silver on R33's S2's, also paint the wheels the same silver, get some chrome wheel nuts and valves, it will look tough and awesome without being a standout overdone car. Do post pics of it when you have done it!

yeh wings comin off but i didnt want to paint it a silver or black(both show heaps of scratches) nor change the colours off the wheels they are nice white. The colours I was thinking were repaint white (kindaboring its white), red ( duno a lot of people dont like red, but got colour doesnt show many marks in paintwork) Blue and green i like the colours but so many different varients im not sure which way to go. OK ive decided on 4 colours to chose from white, red, blue or green

im over midnight purple now every1s got it and now im over red to lol. What do you guys reckon bout blue or a green?

There are some blue ones floating around, the R33 GTR LM blue looks awesome, but may not on R32, the blue 32's ive seen werent that exact colour

EVERY single green one ive seen has looked crap - seriously, every one. Id have a close look at a heap of them before spending the money

Hey man, don't stuff around! Do it EVERY friggin' colour! Like one of those D1 paint jobs that look like a pixellated chainsaw massacre splashed up the sides.Way cool.No worries about colour matching either coz you'll be able to add anything and get away with it.

Midnight purple is SEX! Factory colour code is LP2 if i remember rightly....

Whichever colour you decide, be sure they make it straight and put and inch of clear on it!

OR if you wanted to have something really REALLY unique you could go M.N.P II or M.N.P III !!! But you kinda need larger than normal bank for that.

    • I'm normally copping my own abuse from neglecting my daily drivers. "Those suspension bushes will last a bit more", "Don't worry about the oil leak, just keep topping it up". The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
    • The best part is when you own the car long enough that you look back and find your OWN ham fisted amateur shit!
    • The annoying part about neglect, is when you start to replace one thing, and find ten more broken things. Ham fisted monkey repairs you normally only find out about when trying to do something unrelated! Ha ha   Neglect you can kind of anticipate the huge costs to fix it all. Ham fistedness is normally a shock the first time your work on a new old car, as everything "looked" good before.
