I'm never happy with my cars so many ideas i wanna do but never get to do it. Still storming up ideas i have 2 RB30 blocks still, i'm thinking street sleeper will look pretty stock to the untrained eye all black engine bay but will be rolling on 550-600hp with 0 turbo lag, can't wait to start the engine build but i will be buying a house before any of this happens, houses suck but can't rent forever boodown.gif

Yeah New Years was pretty good from what i remember was fairly smashed, went to the northern beaches bowls club it was packed but i had fun don't remember walking home.

Also want to ask anyone is interested in doing trip to the Superlap this year in August, as i won't be going to Powercruise or Jambo this year as i will be in Las Vegas. Some very unique and hi-po GTR's from Japan are coming rumors are M-speed R34, Autoselect Yellow Shark R34 and maybe Cyber's new R35 which is taking over from their EVO will be f**king awesome can't wait to see the line up.

Yeah I'm looking into housing atm, thats why my car hasnt recieved any major upgrades lately lol

Starting my new job soon so will have a bit more money to spare then. Because of my new job though, wont be making the easter trip this year. Pretty disapointed about that but what can you do

Yeah Cal i hear ya gotta make some sacrifices i'll have no cars for awhile sad.gif but its the only way i'm gonna get a house quickly, not looking forward to $800 a week house repayments its gonna suck big hairy balls hardcore woot.gif

So pulled my sunroof out today and saw the extent of the rust damage.

So if anyone knows someone with a this part of the sunroof that wants to sell it then let me know, I was gonna take it in to get repaired but that might cost a bit to much.

Found my next car its a all original bog stock mint condition R32 with original 75000kms its from a high end GTR specialist dealer in Japan only 1380000yen which is like $18k FARK i so want it so bad its even in the colour i want as well. It is almost way too good of condition to modify should be bubble wrapped for 20yrs and then sold for $$$$$$

Goodluck trying to find a new sunroof Cal you would have to go through Nissan Japan and even then they would want a squillion dollars.

Yeah I'm trying to find one from a wrecked 33 off here, stuff going through Nissan lol. Was gonna repair mine but I'd need a new seal and who knows what else would break so would probably end up costing to much

Thats a tidy R32, almost makes me wish I'd got one

How did you go Cal have any luck with the sunroof. Have you tried Yahoo Auctions?

Very productive day for me hopefully the R33 GTR will be sold by tomorrow and then just waiting for the 350Z to acquire a new home then i will be officially car-less (fairlane doesn't count as a car cause its a heap of shit with wheels under it). Can't wait for next project car banana.gif Operation Street Sleeper hehehe last car i swear no more after this one biggrin.gif

No F-ing way this will be your last car haha

I'm looking at something a bit more practical for my next car, Audi A4 1.8L lol

The skyline will spend more time locked away then :)

Sunroof hasnt gone well so far, I emailed 3 import wreckers down south and import monster last night just seeing whos got the best price. No replies yet but I'll leave it for a few days. Probably end up putting whatever one i get in the car and (Depending how good it is) I'll get mine pulled apart, remove the rust and paint etc then get it re-sealed.

Not to worried at the moment so see how i go

dont lie them pics are off the brochure ben haha

callan just get urs fixed man atleast u know its done then and not a 2nd hand one that might already have rust starting...

Yeah I might end up fixing it. Its just the fact that it will have to be off the road for a few days and I'm running around doing inductions and shit at the moment so cant really do it at the moment lol. Maybe when I get back from my shift in a bit over a week

    • It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about. Reliability of everything in a 34 drops MASSIVELY above the 300kw mark. Keeping everything going great at beyond that value will cost ten times the $. Clutches become shit, gearboxes (and engines/bottom ends) become consumable, traction becomes crap. The good news is looking legalish/actually being legal is slighly under the 300kw mark. I would make the assumption you want to ditch the stock plenum too and want to go a front facing unit of some description due to the cross flow. Do the bends on a return flow hurt? Not really. A couple of bends do make a difference but not nearly as much in a forced induction situation. Add 1psi of boost to overcome it. Nobody has ever gone and done a track session monitoring IAT then done a different session on a different intercooler and monitored IAT to see the difference here. All of the benefits here are likely in the "My engine is a forged consumable that I drive once a year because it needs a rebuild every year which takes 9 months of the year to complete" territory. It would be well worth deciding where you want to go and what you care about with this car.
    • By "reverse flow", do you mean "return flow"? Being the IC having a return pipe back behind the bumper reo, or similar? If so... I am currently making ~250 rwkW on a Neo at ~17-18 psi. With a return flow. There's nothing to indicate that it is costing me a lot of power at this level, and I would be surprised if I could not push it harder. True, I have not measured pressure drop across it or IAT changes, but the car does not seem upset about it in any way. I won't be bothering to look into it unless it starts giving trouble or doesn't respond to boost increases when I next put it on the dyno. FWIW, it was tuned with the boost controller off, so achieving ~15-16 psi on the wastegate spring alone, and it is noticeably quicker with the boost controller on and yielding a couple of extra pounds. Hence why I think it is doing OK. So, no, I would not arbitrarily say that return flows are restrictive. Yes, they are certainly restrictive if you're aiming for higher power levels. But I also think that the happy place for a street car is <300 rwkW anyway, so I'm not going to be aiming for power levels that would require me to change the inlet pipework. My car looks very stock, even though everything is different. The turbo and inlet pipes all look stock and run in the stock locations, The airbox looks stock (apart from the inlet being opened up). The turbo looks stock, because it's in the stock location, is the stock housings and can't really be seen anyway. It makes enough power to be good to drive, but won't raise eyebrows if I ever f**k up enough for the cops to lift the bonnet.
    • There is a guy who said he can weld me piping without having to cut chassis, maybe I do that ? Or do I just go reverse flow but isn’t reverse flow very limited once again?
    • I haven’t yet cut the chassis, maybe I switch to a reverse flow. I’ve got the Intercooler mounted as I already had it but not cut yet. Might have to speak to an engineer
    • Yes that’s another issue, I always have a front mount, plus will be turbo plus intake will big hasstle. I’ve been told if it looks stock they’re fine with it by a couple others who have done it ahahaha.    I know @Kinkstaah said the stock gtt airbox is limiting but I might just have to do that to avoid a defect so it atleast looks legit. Or an enclosed pod so it’s hidden away and feed air from the snorkel and below Intercooler holes like kinstaah mentioned. Hmm what to do
