I copped that exact punishment once (100fine and sticker) but what they deem as "obscuring" can be percieved in many ways, it's more the interpretation of the law. I practically sucked the officers dick being a kiss-ass and apologetic (even though what he deemed as "obscuring" wasn't really obscuring) and they still gave me a sticker.

Guys - we all drive imports, it's what happens. Any more "I got a yellow" threads and I'm going to cut myself. Sheesh!

Hopefully you learned that fellating the officer concerned didn't mean you got away with it. Just concentrate on not appearing to be a dickhead & you will find the coppers will treat you with respect. This approach also has the advantage of allowing you to retain some self respect.

Oh, and NEVER say thankyou.

Park your car correctly, indicating to the curb. Turn off the Doof. Get out of the car and greet the plod with something like, "how can I help you officer" and then get ready for the smart arse comment like " what do you think you were doing" or "going a bit fast their we'rent we son" (when I have jeans older than him LOL). Resist the temptation to go the witty comeback. These people are trained to make you feel inadaquate, read the signs...eye contact and body language are very important, dont vomit the first thing that comes into your head, thats part of their plan to make you feel like a knob, they do hundreds of stops a year-you might get 5 of those. Slow down the repsonses, keep them short and offer no information that is not requested.

This is business, he/she is trying to take money from you...so never say thankyou.

Good call. Always think about what you have to say before you say it. A bit of silence never hurt anyone.

Useful words are approximately & about. Useful phrases are I'm not 100% sure & I think so. Eg "How fast were you going." "Approximately...."

What you should be aiming for is to be polite, but with a hint of disdain. Appearing to be a little fed up with them wasting your time doesn't hurt either but only if you haven't actually done anything wrong.

Remember it is an attitude test as much as anything....

Why put the plate on the right? You know the answer and so do police. Its the same as not having the plate on or bending the plate. Just be thankful they didn't yellow you. Sh*t like that is what they pick on and yes its all their fault. Obscuring your plate is an offense and you can cop a $100 fine and a yellow sticker. If I were a cop I would do the same for your stupidity.

thing is that i have passed the pits twice with my number plate on the right hand side

ROFL, its funny that people still think cops make money off fines and/or defects

Fines go to general revenue so pollies can go on junkets, not cops doughnut fund

I know a cop who was reprimanded for letting someone off for speeding - the jerk made a complaint. He never attempted to go lenient again (go figure) and stuck 100% to the book

I also know cops that when they put a uniform on, turned into absolute twats.

A friend of many years (who was in traffic) said just dont do laps, or burnouts up at kings park, and you should be fine. Seems I never get hasselled (unless I do things that deserve it :no: )

Two of the most useful thoughts that should be in your mind I guess :no: I know being nervous and splorting out nonsense wouldn't be appropriate, we're all guilty of it at one point (oh shit, the cops what do I do)

Practice makes perfect, as you get older you'll get better at these confrontations. And have less trouble also I guess.

      I've got a spare standard box sitting in the garage  I know it will come one day though, but it's driven pretty tamely on the four times a year it gets out...

      Thanks for the quick replies guys its appreciated. A small extension was welded onto the standard 6boost external gate pipe which you can see where the pipe goes from black to stainless just below and to the right of the rear housing in the first picture. Overall I would say the flow is pretty good other than 6boosts choice to come straight off the collector at a decent angle.. Not sure why I went with two valves, I originally replaced the stock twin bovs with the GFB when I had the twins on. When I purchased the EFR it came with the Turbosmart Kompact BOV so I figured that would be a better option than the stock EFR Bov. I don't believe the Turbosmart BOV is adjustable? When I get the spike and then sudden dip in boost pressure, the turbo speed does drop as well. Stock head size wise however I believe it has Neo Turbo springs and a Neo Turbo intake camshaft and an aftermarket exhaust camshaft in the vicinity of 260 degrees. We didn't try a different MAC valve, we tried two different ways of plumbing it and we also tried removing the mac valve entirely and just having the boost source from the turbo directly connected to the wastegate and it still spiked / dropped and exhibited the same behaviour. Standard R33 GTR 5 speed tansmission. I'm running a Haltech Elite 2500 and can provide some logs if you. I understand what you're saying in that it looks like an auto plot however no, it's still a manual and it just has a lot of torque down low, for all intents and purposes it's a very impressive street car. I've attached a photo of the quickbitz dyno plot which was when the only difference is I was running -5 twin turbos with a mac valve. As you can see theres a decent dip in AFRs between 125kmh and 135kmh. Our problem now is not that the AFRs are dropping, just the boost pressure is dropping, however it is evident in the same RPM range of the map, coincidentally or not.
