sad thing is, i can see morons buying these things...

it could only be as an image thing as they are crap offroad, the average land cruiser is better as a 4x4, sure hummer 1 had a purpose, but they shouldn't be on the roads and if your going to get a rice mobile 5 cyl hummer 3, why bother...

just to prove the point,

heres a vid for your enjoyment!

i agree about the ones they are sendin here, dont sound like a 'real' hummer, but as for that vid, i dont think that accurately represents real hummers.

real hummers

i reckon this hummer will be as top gear described the porsche boxter,

it will be a car that says "look at me im driving a beast" but yet your life hasnt worked out to the fullest so you have to settle for the cheapest car in their line-up. or in this case, not a real hummer

Slightly off topic, i think this is more interesting.

2 turbos, v12, diesel, 5.5 seconds 0-100km

http://www.webwombat.com.au/motoring/news_...audi-q7-v12.htm

"The 6.0-litre V12 makes its debut in the Audi Q7, generating a stump-pulling 368kW of power (500bhp) and 1000Nm of torque and opens a new chapter in the diesel history books."

Holy mother of god... Not only is that Ferrari F430 matching power, but (discounting the Bugatti Veyron) you're looking at the torquiest new car money can buy (equal with AMG V12s)!

It's not going to be sold as the Holden Hummer.

Holden are simply importing them and selling them. They will remain the H3 Hummer.

I actually like these "vehicles" lol.

They are being imported as direct competitors to the Landcruiser, Pajero, Patrol etc. H3s aren't as massive as you guys think, they look bigger than they are due to the design (i.e, the designers wanted it to look like its bigger brothers), furthermore most people have a picture of H1 and H2 hummers in their heads......

Also all those complaining about the size, how do you deal with trucks, buses etc? They're a whole lot bigger!

In terms of marketing you'll be surprised how big the 4x4 market is (although it has slown down a bit), the car is expected to be priced at approximately 55k, which puts it in a similar range as its direct competitors. Expect it to sell AND sell well.

The same could be argued about GTRs, GTSTs or worse, GTSs.

Faulty logic in my opinion, people have different applications for their money.

Some people might just want a large 4WD and not a monster truck?

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
