hayden49
I could be totally wrong but isnt that a sign of a blown head gasket? Im not a mechanic though so dont take my word. cheers Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146930-rb26dett-mixing-water-and-oil-inside-radiator/#findComment-2742223 Share on other sites
Godzilla32
Yeah it can be a sign of a blown head gasket or a cracked head. Have you overheated it at all? Need to do a Co2 test and compression test perhaps. Deren Then again it could just be the heat exchanger sandwiched between your oil filter and the block...Doubt it but it could be. Supra2000
But Head Gasket is metal. How to do Co2 and compression test perhaps? Sorry I didn't know about it if you can explain to me how. Godzilla32
You can only do a Co2 test if you have the test kit same goes for the compression test. Best to take it to a reliable mechanic. Where are you located? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146930-rb26dett-mixing-water-and-oil-inside-radiator/#findComment-2742306 Share on other sites
Topaz
Well dear, I have the same thing and have been told it could be little O rings inside a rail looking thing near the injectors that apparently houses air and water chambers...... I could be way of dear, as it may be another problem I was being explained about. Duncan
There have also been problems with the oil cooler that sits on the block next to the oil filter, it may have a crack. But it sounds like its time to drop it by a mechanic. hope its not too dear Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146930-rb26dett-mixing-water-and-oil-inside-radiator/#findComment-2742332 Share on other sites

khunjeng
oil in coolant is usually a head gasket. whats the color of the oil? Does the radiator have bubbles with the cap off? Supra2000
I already changed the oil cooler next to the oil filter and the engine block. I want to ask you the head gasket if damaged I think the mixing should be inside engine, Am I right?. I am thanking you for your reply Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/146930-rb26dett-mixing-water-and-oil-inside-radiator/#findComment-2744234 Share on other sites
Godzilla32
Coolant runs throught the entire engine and cooling system (radiator, etc) so a mixture will be spread through the whole system not just in the area where the problem occurs. mad082
generally the main cause of this is either a blown head gasket, or a crack in the head. i had to replace a head on ford laser the other weak that had a hole in the head. the oil and water looked like someone had drained them out and filled them with ice coffee. Supra2000
If the oil and water looked like ice coffee it means the head cracked. wrxhoon
It could be all of the above as well as a cracked block . A compression and a leakdown test will confirm any headgasket /cracked head or cracked block and even pinpoint where it is . a coolant pressure test may reveal your problem as well.. The cheapest option would be a leaking cooler sandwich, next a headgasket, just because its metal it can still leak ( actually that could be your problem if not correctly torqued ) ..
