Just driving back from seeing a doctor, copper turned onto the road i was on, then merged his way into behind me, and flashed his lights on.

Came to the car and picked the first thing that stood out which was "the car looks a little low"

10mm on the rear too low and 30mm too low on the front.

If he has to go over the pits, they will know

exactly. Im planning to go over once, so im returning the driveline and everything to stock as possible.

edit/ the cop actually commented on how clean the car was with no leaks, and bushes are all good...

aw man that sux i also would of though the RB25 gearbox would of been ok

but i guess you might know better

The 25t box would be ok but one needs to find a factory gearbox crossmember and mount that bolts up to the rb25 box + R32 combo.

Unsure if a GTR/GTS4 cross member will bolt up. Some have said the Auto crossmember bolts up.

Then there's the single piece tail shaft. :(

was actually along the road that goes down to hallet cove along the 80km/h section. had to pull into the hungry jacks car park.

Only if your car was an auto gtst will a std cross member bolt in to make it look origional.

Looks like i can do all the swapsies with Cubes :(

no circlework with the Nismo diff either cubes :(

Bugger that's right near where I live. Will have to keep an eye out for that d#@$ head.

I thought the rule was for the ride height to be legal the car only had to clear the ground by 10cm. Doesn't sound like you're anywhere near that low, though 30mm on the front would be down a bit I guess, but not rediculously so. Glad I haven't lowered mine.

I want a Madaz Grandma :(

Jazza,

There's a few different measurements it needs to pass not to be considered too low.

1. The R32 GTST must be no lower than 360mm all round.

2. The lowest part of the car must have 100mm ground clearance.

3. Some measurement of the headlight to ground height.

Number 3 is ignored as some factory cars are released with a headlight level that is too low. Some honda's from memory.

So 1 & 2 are the ones to look out for.

Just to note... My stock suspensioned R32 GTST measures ~365mm all around.

So the 360mm measurement means you cannot run lowered suspension. I'm assuming they have a slightly lower height to allow for some suspension sag, possible differences in manufacturing and or a full tank of juice.

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
