OK well i just got my car dynoed and here is the result. the mods are front mount intercooler, hks air filter, turbo back exaust with gutted cat, boost controller set to 10psi, SAFC, and a bosch 910 fuel pump,

also as u can see the car was dynoed at RE CUSTOMS and i cannot thank ray enough i recommend anyone wanting a tune or work done to head down there. i know ill be going back when i get a power fc which will hopefully be soon post-14524-1166431184.jpg

nice man. nar mine is black i was there on friday aswell and he chucked my car on the dyno and then i got the bad news my fuel pump shit itself so i brought a new 910 and O what a difference and he didnt really need to change my air/fuel somehow it was running great but he used the safc just to make it a bit richer up high end car goes great im so pleased. calder on wednesday should be fun

fantastic - let us know how your car goes on wednesday..... yeah u might have seen my car there on friday (white s2 r33). welsh plugs gave way when they were doing hte service, so had to change all that - now its running great. Gonna get more mods done through them (the exhaust was done thru them)

That is a very high result for a fairly stock car. especially for only 10psi. I think the dyno is being a bit optamistic. Also your power curve is quite wonky in a couple of places. it might have been slipping on the dyno :P

this was mine with only a couple of mods - done at RE as well

i could be wrong, but wouldnt the intercooler and the fuel pump increase the power output significantly?

That dyno reading is a joke, my car has the exact same mods and it sure as hell does NOT have 210kw at the wheels.

Somthing is wrong there.

With those mods id expect about 170rwkw.

cheers

your engine might be getting rather tired, or the dyno you went on under read to some extent (170kw is pretty low for those mods) and his over read to some extent.

for those mods i'd say about 190kw would be pretty accurate. remember that he does have a gutted cat.

ahh 170rwkw was just an estimate.

I havnt had my car dynod as yet but i hav those mods and im also putting on a batmbl front/drump pipe soon with a 5" body cat.

Haha pretty sure after i do that my clutch is sure to die a horrible death.

The only reason i didnt think i had that much power because i raced a mates stock 180 running 10 psi and he beat me by 1/2 a car length.

NOTE: race was conducted at appropriate race track

only way to find out if the power is correct is take the car down to the drags and compare the times/terminal(trap) speeds with others car of that power range.

no point comparing dynos.

my 2cents

My understanding behind shootout mode dynos, was to apply a correction so that most dynos could be compared. Now there is nothing wrong with the figures, as the correct mode was used and the air temps look right.

I am puting my money on either it running too lean, or you have a non-stock turbo in it (hi-flow / aftermarket).

Forget the figure, look at the power curve. something not right.

9 psi by 6h km/ph in 4th? looks like the operator held it on load untill he started the run. This is not really and indication on what the car will do on the street and will F96k up the peak torque figure.

Then there is a taper off and then an full 10 rwkw more at redline.

as long as the car holds boost correctly and the AFR's are safe the figure does not matter really. Still I have NEVER seen a car wth this level of mods produce more 190rwkw.

Glad you are happy with the result :(

Cheers!

yeah I have the same bs figure as well, 199rwkw before tune and 211rwkw after tune with a SAFC2. I must have gotten on a happy dyno as well, must get myself to a more moderate one to test out again, coz there's no way I'm gonna believe that. Although its fun bragging to people about it hahahahah

the only accurate way to compare timeslips from the track is to have the same person drive both cars. in a way they are like dyno readouts. 1 person may be a crap driver, but have more power and better tyres, suspension, etc, but still run a slower time at a slower speed than someone who can driver really well.

so i brought a new 910 and O what a difference and he didnt really need to change my air/fuel somehow it was running great but he used the safc just to make it a bit richer up high end

it should already be waaay rich with the new pump and stock ecu... he would have been leaning it out with the SAFC not making it richer

and no point running with a gutted cat unless you have a section of pipe put in there... just creates turbulance otherwise and no power gain

    • Drilled the rubber out on a slow speed and it didn't catch much at all. Probably only half a dozen holes was enough to shred the rubber and it dropped off easily leaving the inner sleeve behind. Will tackle that later
    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
