There are a few differences, one being the sensor plugs on r32 are round, square on a31. Also the r32 engine has a little more power in stock form. The r32 has factory bov and a31 doesn't. I have heard there is more potential for higher power outputs from the a31 engine, not exactly sure how or why though. Not sure on if the turbos are the same

The cefiro inlet cam has a longer duration and the exhaust cam is retarded about 2 deg from the R32 cam.

ceff afm, coilpacks and ignitor are different.

ECU also only has 1 fuel map and 1 timing map as opposed to the skyline. it has 2 fuel and 2 timing maps.

If you look at the 2 maps the skyline runs 3 deg more timing and has different load tp scaling.

thanks for all the replys so with these spitfire plugs can u get spitfire coils that u can just plug in to replace the stock coil packs over coil pack problems?

They are adapters. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...mp;hl=splitfire Seems Splitfire didn't want to manufacture different coilpacks for the same engine. If you could get hold of a R32 coil pack loom and are 1/2 handy with electrics you could easily knock some up yourself.

so that is only for the adaptors then u would have to get ur hands on some 32 coilpacks to plug in them or do u buy the aftermarket ones as shown on the pics below the adapters ?

the turbo is different also, R32 is ball bearing ceffy is plain bearing. also slight differences in the exhaust side.

later ceffys run the rounder R32 style loom plugs, but most are early ones

AFM, coils, CAS and some other sensors are the same as R31 Redtop RB20DET. turbo is also the same as that of a redtop.

loom (bar the plugs), injectors, head is all the same as r32.

while working on my dad's cef (series 1) I found that it had more parts in common mechanically (well, engine and electrics) with the R31 GTSR than it did with the R32 GTSt.

i just found out that my R32 RB20DET engine is being run off a cefiro ECU...

can anyone tell me if this is dangerous for the engine?

i'm trying to track down an R32 ECU, but having no luck so far...

if anyone can help me by answering that question, it would be GREATLY appreciated... :D

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
