ok looking back on my post dont know why i put up error code 20 flowchart

but here is Error 21 flowchart and better harness pic

RellikZephyr

Going down to workshop today and will give it my best shot - will let all know the outcome.

you still need to cut the wire at pin56 and join it to pin 38. (evan though the factory ecu isnt hooked up.)

i just hope the plug hasnt been chopped off.

from memory its a green/orange wire.

otherwise your gonna have to break out the multimeter and find the wire that gos to pin 47 on the atessa ecu.

code 21 is tps etc etc. its got to be conected to the aftermarket ecu.s throttle signal input... an has to be 0.4 volts

:D

is your abs hooked up? if it isnt ignore code 8.

No ABS unit in the car at all- so i will ignore code 8.

thanks - going to go down and check now - i believe the ecu and tps are all hooked up - will let you know- do i disconect the air bleed connector still ?

Well guys,

tried as much as i could - did as you suggested Dave- 38 has been used for water temp on the EMS so i got 56 and went direct to 47 on the ets - no differance? Have re connected the air bleed as i was not sure if that is doing any thing. Soleniods - fuses etc are all in place.

error code 21 still flashing- i need to know where i go from here .

I think i need your on site help Heller

From what T04GTR (dave) has said and what I gather from the schematics, you just need to make sure that you are getting the tps voltage to the ets controller.

If you aren't getting the correct voltage on that pin 56, in respect to a common negative shared between the tps and ets, then the ets isn't going to see the correct tps voltage.

Pin 38 on the original ecu harness was the tps input to the ecu, pin 56 was the original tps output to the ets. What T04GTR was saying is just to bridge the original in to the original out, to send the tps to the rear of the car.

I know bugger all about how an EMS is wired in, so if the connector has been modified you need to find out which wires correspond.

James.

If I'm wrong on this T04GTR let me know, I'm not an auto sparky just an instrument/electronics tech, but I'm learning fast..

Thanks james ,

i have had enough for now - will try again on the week end when i have a little more patience - i would still like to see you come down and see what i am trying to do ?

Rellik ,

thanks for your help with the pin numbers but take note please. - i was looking in the wrong area for some time as the picture of the connections on the ETS have been mirrored and are back to front - your not to realise this as i didnt either - but something we have to be careful of.

thanks for your interest and input though.

  • 2 weeks later...
:D Back again boys - attesa working but when brake is applied it disengages - same as when one slows down and turns the key on and of whilst moving - code is 9 - which is ABS actuator relay any help ? Damn thought we had it - cant be much now !?

    • I've got a 2011 J50 that I imported six years ago. The unmodified factory AV system date and time has always been correct ( Japanese timezone of course ) up until last month. About two weeks ago, at engine start, the system wished me a happy new year ( in Japanese of course ). I can't think of anything that would make the system think that the date had changed, unless the GPS component has failed/reset somehow ? I checked the GPS reception in the system settings, and it can still see the satellites. Has any other J50 owner had this happen ?  It's no biggie, just annoying that it tells me the wrong date anytime I start the engine. 😅
    • Love following your adventures on IG, hopefully if you're still around in Japan when we visit again wouldn't mind going for a few beers with you (that's if you're keen on hearing how I hate Nissans).
    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
