Had a minor problem that I fixed today that meant my line was out of action for a week. This meant driving a little civic around in the mean time.

Anyone else agree that in this situation, as soon as you sit back in your line, you get a little grin on your face. As you start the engine, the grin gets a little bigger. Then, as you come onto the highway, it turns into a smile from ear to ear. Its like you first time (driving a skyline that is) all over again. Then you glance down a go 'oh crap, i'm doing 130' :) ... oops.

Gotta love skylines

Bet you can't wait to get your line back. This whole week I've been staring at mine in the car port, wishing I could take it for a drive. So glad its back to its old self again :)

Make sure you post some pics when you get your car done

totaly agree...

juz came back from hoildays from surfers (i live in sydney)... we took my girlfriends civc... i missed my car soooo much when i was there... the first time i got back in my line after a week it felt so good... it was like stepping out of a car into an alient ufo... lol...

p.s. my car is in a horrible shape rite now coz i hit a farmers wire fence during xmas and da whole car is scratched... it drives fine and nothing is broken (bonet a bit dented) but it looks like like shyt but i still couldn't stop smilling when i drve it...

Yessss, my car's been off the road for so long, awaiting dump pipe to be fixed, then an epa test and now a cracked windshield..

I've been driving my valiant 8 and it's just so flopping slow, and when u turn corners ur ass slides off the seat. Also been driving my sisters corolla, the thing is actually pretty funny/fun, i just got it to chirp into 3rd lol, gotta love crappy fwd traction.

Took the line for a spin last night and was like... wtf its this fast? soo good can't wait till tomorow

mines been away for 6 weeks now over the holidays (which i really wanted it for :) )

Other than that i have a 89 camry for a- b duties, for work i drive gas\ petrol Rodeo 4wd(the worst car i have ever driven on \ off road, there are some cars that just arent made for gas conversions and this is a car that i would happily, if i didn't get into trouble for it , drive it into holden dealer and crash it through a display window hopefully taking out some other holdens in the process) Phew! end rant :)

I miss my skyline soooo much. The only thing that gives me hope is that when i do finally get it back, it will be like driving it for the first time again. :)

yeh mines been sitting in the garage.. it looks so sad without a body kit though so I dont tend to go and take a look at her. lol it just makes me feel worse :)

And there will be lots of pics :) from start to finish ;)

im still suprised at the emotional connection we seem to have with our skylines lol.. alot of mates in NSW have their cars off the road for one reason or another and all miss them so much :)

Sounds very familiar! Though been single for a couple months so not an issue of late =D

"If it's got tits or wheels it's trouble"

No luck with My R last night, Corolla FTW again today - will change some parts tonight and if there's no success it goes in to autoelec tomorrow.

lucky my girlfriend is kool and understands my obsession... she even drives my line often... well someone has to drive when im drunk... hahhahahaha... na but she is a good driver and respects my car alot so i trust her with it...

hey do u guys ever get the urge to sell ur skyline when its not running and getting a stock turbo car or even a normal car???

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
