probably not real c/b dude....

real c/f is like $1200+

I have never seen a fake carbon fibre bonnet as there is no plant i know of capable of dipping such a large object nor would it be of any financial gain to do so.

I think you mean or what you should mean is this.

Carbon fibre bonnets purchased under $1000 are usually fibre glass based with the top layer being carbon fibre.

You get the look but not the structural advantages that you do with a complete carbon bonnet.

This is much cheaper and what most cheap Carbon Fibre bonnet makers do.

It is still "real" carbon fibre.

Eastbear, Stout, Jun full carbon fibre bonnets are around $850-1300 plus delivery from Japan.

Its just unfortunate that delivery costs so much :P

Also when a full carbon bonnet has been made within Australia and has been crash tested this will see a large increase in price.

yep and thats who quoted me on the one for my 2006 holden combo..

Just out of interest I got pulled over today and fined for not having a mod plate for the pod and micrrotech ecu $75 no points BUT he made no mention at all about my carbon over fibreglass bonnet but then again I didnt ask either lol

WOW Terry your pod is secured... Yeah...

How did they get you on the ECU??? How did they even know???

Pod is secure, I have a handset for the microtech and he knew what it was, to be clear on this it wasnt a defect, it says on the fine "drive vehicle if equipment does not comply with the vehicle standards" (word for word there) offense details "pod airfilter, aftermarket computer" I'm not too concerned but the gist of it was, I didnt have a mod plate for anything and he wants me to get one to comply with the law, he could of defected the car but let me off with this as a warning. I have a feeling he just wanted to look at the car and then started telling me about his RX3 with a microtech and all the shit he went through with it even tho he is a cop lol. The reason he pulled me over was, I was be tailed by this total f**kwit who was tailgaiting me for ages and when I got to an intersection, I blasted through it to leave him behind, he was somewhere close and heard the roar and blow off.

i knew that mr-toy i just made the post cause ive seen a few ppl around wanting c/f bonnets cheap...i thought that was cheap

2 yrs ago mine cost me $800 in Hong Kong, it cost $3-400 to import.

why bother paying that much for something that you can only use on the track but i dont have a car so thats just my opinion

My bonnet had a acid rain look to it and a good respray was quoted at $750, this way I get a spare bonnet and no respray hassles, straight up bolt on all I had to do was switch the water spray nozzles.

    • The filter only filters down to a specific size. Add to that, the filter is AFTER the pump. So it means everything starts breaking your pump even if its being filtered out.
    • Just like in being 14mm too small (296mm) makes it not fit, being 14mm too big (324mm) it also won't fit. You want to find the correct rotor.
    • @GTSBoy Ok so that was the shops problem...they showed R33 rotors on R34 page and i did not know 296 do not fit(and are for R33) Yes i bought "kit" with rotors and pads. Pads are ok(i have GTT calipers front and rear). They have some 324mm but no 310mm. So i dont know if they would fit. I have 17inch LMGT4s So another question. Can i fit those in the rear or they are just "too" big for that?
    • I started removing the tank a while back with the intent to give it a proper clean. Got to a bolt that I couldn't undo completely due to a diff being in the way, so just said f**k it and siphoned the gluggy old fuel out and called it a day. Looking it the tank it looks less corroded than the one in the pics for that billet hanger from Frenchy's anyway. Isn't it the fuel filters job to worry about this stuff? I scraped off most the crusty shit of the hanger but will give it another go before reinstall coz maybe the fuel and return pipes are also full of gunk
    • Pretty sure it is a common fault. I believe this is the only part you need, but don't quote me as I don't have a V36.  I also believe it is a bit of a pain to change and the device needs to be encoded to the car once it is replaced, so may need someone with the right tools.
