Hey!

I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right area, BUT I'm happy if anyone were to see it.

I recently created a new avatar that says "INSANE".. for those who don't get it, it's a modified NISSAN logo. Sorta like EVIL from LEVI's. I'm not sure if it has already been made or not, but this is something I whipped up a few nights ago. PROMISE!

I was thinking of slappin it on a t-shirt for myself.. and thought that if anyone else was interested in getting one then that would be cool!

If you're interested gimme a PM or just add a comment on this thread.

It'll probably happen a little further down the road. The design is still in its early stage, planning on having the SAU www on there aswell..

Hopefully we could get some numbers and even more designs brought forward and have them made in bulk which would be cheaper! Just a thought!

If anyone has any info on anything that could help cause, please contact here

Here are some samples I made in Photoshop.

Ok... Just a few points to get things going.

Welcome to the forum. I notice you've only been with us for 2 days thus far.

So, 5 posts into it all you've started a thread about t-shirts you made.

Now this gets me (and others) thinking a little >_<

1) Your advertising stuff, and its not really a private sale as your going to make as many as are needed. Sorta heading to a group buy thing

2) Point 1 makes me think you could well be a business, or, at the very least making money.

Its without a doubt, a lot of effort to make t-shirts for everyone (that you dont even know) and not be making money out of it ;)

You've posted it in a number of state sections aswell to bump sales... those threads, for now, have been locked pending the outcome of this thread.

Kinda see where im going with this mate?

If you could pass comments on 1 & 2 for us that would be appreciated.

We are just trying to get some more base level information here for the rest of the running team here on SAU, so dont think the ACME vice has just fallen from the sky or anything :)

As for having SAU stuff on there, i've raised the issue and i am waiting a comment from the higher powers so thats a TBA for the time being.

Being the State clubs actually give a bit of money over for the running of the forums that they advertise/use etc.

And there is forum Merch itself aswell.

So its kinda a bit tricky as im sure you can appreciate.

Maybe supply some extra details about whats going on here that i probably am yet to think of aswell

Cheers - Ash

Hey Ash,

Yeah! I understand completely. I actually signed up as "kabala", sometime in December, then wanted to change my name as at the time I didn't know how to without changing my account, but the further I delved and navigated my way through the support links.. I found a way to do it - too late.

I haven't actually made ANY tshirts, I've only made the avatar that you see next to my name only less than a week ago, and that's just been photoshopped onto 2 pics I pulled off the net.

1. I guess I was advertising the possibility of a new SAU shirt. I know how much screen printing costs, and it wouldn't be worth doing 4, and it's definitely cheaper in bulk. I just wanted to generate some sort of interest and hopefully enough numbers to make them in bulk. Which leads me to numero dos..

2. I wish I was a business. But I'm not.. but if I was, I'd have some sort of link to my .com, but I don't. I'm a 21 y/o public servant with too much time on my hands.

The tshirt concept, was something that me and a mate wanted on our OWN tshirts, but more people liked the logo when they saw my avatar (sau/msn), so we thought perhaps if there was enough interest we could make them in bulk and any profits could go towards SAU/SAUACT (ie. a marquee/banner for ACTSAU, donations, web maintainence, stickers etc..). But that was something later on down the track, we weren't thinking about that just yet until the idea was set in concrete.

In the original post (ACT) you can see that I noted that it was something that would "probably happen a little further down the road, I still gotta research how much it would cost and what not..". I never took any deposits or gave anyone a price, just wanted to see if there was any interest.

I also Pm'd 2rismo asking him to have a look at it. I was trying to look for a merchandise link here, but it was pretty difficult to navigate my way around here.

Anyway, I hope this has answered any queries that you and anyone else may have. I love my skylines and the tshirt idea is something that, I hope, will inevidably assist SAU for the future.

I'm more than happy, if this is given the go ahead, to hand over my "ownership" of the logo so SAU can manage and use it accordingly for merchandise, advertising etc.. (at no cost, or course ;))

I hope this answers some and more, for further info, PM or post a comment! More than happy to clear things up.

Cheers!

Karl.

You are not given some divine right to be happy you know!!!

C'mon Jayce!!!!

T shirt design etc looks good [wished i'd thought of it], the big picture issue is that if SAU gets it right then there is a fund source there waiting to be tapped that will benefit the club and in turn the members.

I vote the club assumes full rights and kabala/insane gets a free membership or two for the idea and a credit mention in the advertising (of them) for the design........that way everyone walks away happy [even though they have no right to be so].

But gotta admit, nobody is going to pay attention to me much!!!

Yeah,I thought R31Nismoid was just trying to do the right thing by bringing me back to reality. How dare I offer my opinion when it clearly means stuff all to the masses,as so clearly pointed out. S'funny, but I thought Karl's explanation would be more than sufficient to keep more than one little SAU'er pleased...I guess I was wrong, yet again.

Pfft...if SAU doesn't give the thumbs up to it ,I'll give our mate K a buzz and see if we can make it happen anyway, advertised on any website or not,I'd imagine they'd be a hit!

  • 2 weeks later...

Ok im back :)

No more feedback from the powers, so i'll go with what we have.

The shirts - no worries. Go for it.

Just keep it to one section, rather than 50 threads all over the place.

Easy for you to manage, easy for us aswell.

URL: You'll have to ask Prank himself if you intend to sell them, if was just personal use (back of your car) then that would be different, but your gonna send them forum wide etc.

We arent sure on his position, so finding that out from him if you wouldnt mind/want to use it.

Also a point was made... maybe donate $1 per shirt or something?

That was one of the ideas that came out of the discussion.

Other than that, happy creation

what a mountain out of a mole hill...

What would be the worst thing to come out of it having the web addy on the back? Publicity for the site, more hits and thus more views of advertising for site sponsors… Please please please prevent this horrible thing from going any further.

I’ve got an SAU sticker on my back window and technically I’m not a paid up member… Sue me.

Stevie Stevie Stevie.

A "for cost" sticker isnt the issue, its the profiteering that is the issue when other people (traders) pay some very good money to advertise on the site.

Maybe go re-read the thread (and the other one) and you might see the point Admin is trying to make here, as I think you totally missed the point there.

Might seem a small issue to you, but then, i dont see you as a paying trader :D

    • If as it's stalling, the fuel pressure rises, it's saying there's less vacuum in the intake manifold. This is pretty typical of an engine that is slowing down.   While typically is agree it sounds fuel related, it really sounds fuel/air mixture related. Since the whole system has been refurbished, including injectors, pump, etc, it's likely we've altered how well the system is delivering fuel. If someone before you has messed with the IACV because it needed fiddling with as the fuel system was dieing out, we need to readjust it back. Getting things back to factory spec everywhere, is what's going to help the entire system. So if it idles at 400rpm with no IACV, that needs raising. Getting factory air flow back to normal will help us get everything back in spec, and likely help chase down any other issues. Back on IACV, if the base idle (no IACV plugged in) is too far out, it's a lot harder for the ECU to control idle. The IACV duty cycle causes non linear variations in reality. When I've tuned the idle valves in the past, you need to keep it in a relatively narrow window on aftermarket ecus to stop them doing wild dances. It also means if your base idle is too low, the valve needs to open too much, and then the smallest % change ends up being a huge variation.
    • I guess one thing that might be wrong is the manifold pressure.  It is a constant -5.9 and never moves even under 100% throttle and load.  I would expect it to atleast go to 0 correct?  It's doing this with the OEM MAP as well as the ECU vacuum sensor. When trying to tune the base map under load the crosshairs only climb vertically with RPM, but always in the -5.9 column.
    • AHHHH gotchaa, I'll do that once I am home again. I tried doing the harness with the multimeter but it seems the car needed a jump, there was no power when it was in the "ON" position. Not sure if I should use car battery jump starter or if its because the stuff that has been disconnect the car just does send power.
    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
