Ok my skylines a 4stud... ive just done my turbo conversion and i feel the need to upgrade the brakes so ive already got the 4spot front and 2spot rears + new rotors + nismo brake lines.... aside from redrilling the rotors to suit the 4stud and bleeding the brakes etc... i dont know what to do lolz.... ive got a mechanic (hes a mate whos offered to help me out on this) but i just wanna make it as easy and do it as quickly as possible is there any other problems i am to encounter? backing plate? (the thing that keeps the brakes warm or something... how about that? where abouts do you mount the calipers itself like from what it looks like it bolts onto something.

help me please ta

dunno what the go with the forum pictures is...

i've done the upgrade, predator has done something similar on his non type-m r32.

it is relatively straight forward. from your questions however, it seems you lack the basics.

likely problems

- caliper clearance for rims (spacer?)

- banjo bolt length

- stone deflectors may need to be bent back

backing plate, are you talking about shims? or what is generally referred to as the backing plate and is held down by two pins - th backing plate presses the pads down making sure they only slide against and away from the rotor.

calipers mount straight up to the caliper mounts, no modification required there.

what caliper/rotor combo do you have? R32 type-m sumitomos? r33 sumitomos? brembos?

r32 calipers might be the better bet. s13 rotors have the same measurements as the standard r33 gts25 :)

i had custom slotted dba rotors made up (weren't cheap).

hope that helps.

yeah ive got r33 calipers, hope it will still fit on nicely, going to do it this coming weekend

33 calipers are better because they're bigger.

both have the same degree of easiness to fit.

32 rotor diameter is the same as s13/180sx/gts25...

i've heard of drifters mix and matching 32 calipers with s13/180 slotted rotors - saves you from redrilling everytime, and a little more variety in slotted rotors

Hey there guys, i know this is an old thread but it exactly what i am doing, i have exerything fitted rotrs and calipers for the r33 gts-t on the 4-stud set up but like EUG mentioned i am having problems with rim clearance even using a 8mm spacer (it rubs on the raised nissan) and also i think the banjo bolt is too long in length, any information on this will be greatly appreciated.

cheers hame

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.
    • It's almost certainly the same as the one next to it. • South Australia, which is hardly as far behind as the rest pf Oz makes out, and who is also not a paragon of progressiveness (read that as over-legislation) in the area of vehicle standards, has this to say on the subject: Adjustable coil-over suspension Aftermarket adjustable coil-over suspension components are suspension units that incorporate an external thread on the main body and corresponding threaded spring saddle that allows the vehicle's suspension height to be varied. If fitting aftermarket or coil-over suspension components you must submit an Application to modify a light motor vehicle form and a report from a light vehicle engineering signatory (LVES).
    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
