shaun was pretty happy with it being a r33 auto.

obviously the 3k high stall and trans is robbing a bit of its power potential, but all in all im happy.

its very smooth until you here the turbo start whistling.

past that its actually a bit crazy.

Very Nice, was a touch warm today also. Nice cool day and you'll see that 300rwkw. :stupid:

Turns out I have a few questions.....

The 11 power runs? Did Shaun have a fiddle?

Did you get to the bottom of the lack of top end? Suspected torque converter?

not sure i wasnt there.

i think he did two runs one after the other so heat soak and molten tyres would show up.

299.9 then 296.8

its at a constant 24 psi which shaun thinks is a good happy number on shell 98.

the afr is now in the low 11's once boost starts, to redline in a constant line, which is something that John never managed to achieve, and knock is maxing out at 18. but averaging 12.

im not sure if im still missing 50 kws or thats all it has in it with the standard nissan head gasket?

with the 3000rpm high stall it will do a 11, so for a daily driven shopping trolley i might leave it alone for a while and just enjoy it.

cheers

Charge takes only an hour or so. :(

My sister currently has the video camera but I can grab it easily.

RE: The std Nissan gasket. I have no idea.. Its doing pretty damn well. its not o-ring'd I presume?

I've seen cometics around pretty cheap ~$200-$250.

how come you took it to shaun this time and not john?

mainly to get shaun to fine tune my pfc boost ccontroller setup as he has had some really good results with them, and John thinks there crap/doesnt know how to set them up well.

also as my first visit to Boostworx i figured i should go see what all you guys rave about..

top bloke..

    • 1/8NPT drill size = 8.7mm. Since the hole got messed up by me, it’s probably around 9mm.    So 1/4” NPT would be next step. A drill size of around 11mm would be preferred there which is not way of my M12 (drill 10.5mm and tap M12 threads)

    • Why are you so adamant on going M12? Why not follow Brad (GTSBoy) suggestion. You're talking moving from a 1/8" size, to a 1/2" effectively. 4 times bigger. Why skip the commonly available sizes in between? The bigger you go, the more likely you are to strip the threads out at a later date, as guaranteed, someone will put a huge spanner on the M12 and really tighten it up, and you're only in thin wall, so not a lot of threads to engage!
    • Hi. Yeah thanks. Car is already at tuners and it staying there to resolve "many" issues they do not like. So it is in a good hands. Getting a good tune on that Nistune ECU too so the car would be good. Just needs a little tune up and love.
    • Probably gonna remove manifold and turbo. I’m not sure if I can get M12 x 1.5 air tight. Could use high temp Loctite 246 or something similar, but I don’t know. Maybe it’s just best to remove everything again and weld an 1/8NPT on there instead.
